Old Red Inn and Cottages is a wonderful place on the main drag in North Conway NH. We didn't have a reservation anywhere, and were hoping to find a nice B&B for the night. One of the owners, Richard said he had a room and a cottage left (Sat. night around 6). He showed us both, and both were very nice, but the room was very quaint, comfortable and roomy. Average size private bathroom, gas fireplace in the corner for heat and plenty of windows. Room also had plenty of storage if you plan on staying awhile, and a TV, bookcase with books, magazines, etc. Bed was a queen and very comfortable. And, we were greeted while we waited to be checked in by their cute dog, Rudi. But even better were the place of chocolate covered strawberries and snickerdoodle cookies! How cool is that? Breakfast featured a few trays of different, fresh pastries, fresh fruit, 3 cereals, fresh juice, coffee, hot water for tea, and then we were served wonderful french toast with blueberry sauce and whipped cream. We were ready to hit the trails hiking after a full breakfast like that. I loved our stay and think you will too. It was quiet....the season I was told....very clean, and the owners gave us great info on places to check out for hiking and sight seeing. Only wish we could have stayed an extra night. 5 stars overall!
