My husband and I just completed our latest visit to Farm by the River and are already fantasizing about when we can go back. This is exactly what a B&B should be: clean and comfortable rooms, an amazing breakfast, a quiet and beautiful location with a rich history, hosts that are warm, friendly and accommodating, and plenty of space to sit by the fireplace and relax. If you like horses, you are in luck because there is a stable on the property with opportunities to take a horseback ride, carriage ride or sleigh ride--dependent upon the weather and time of year, of course. If you enjoy shopping and/or eating out, you are only a couple of miles from the bustling little town of North Conway. The Farm is the perfect place for a getaway because it has the world's best innkeepers. I stayed at Rick and Charlene's B&B for two nights from Xmas eve. With their hand made lighting and snow, the property looked so beautiful for Xmas. The couple made the property very warm and welcoming with vintage characters. I stayed at Room 4 with king bed and jacuzzi. Together with another family staying at the property, we had a joyful Xmas breakfast. Charlene also showed me around the nearby Echo Lake while walking their dog Heidi. After coming back from Xmas dinner at the Red Jacket, we shared some lovely stories of life and the joy of opening Xmas presents together. The 70 acre property has its unique charm and I enjoyed every bit of it, thinking to come back for horseback riding during summer time when it's green and warm.

Just what I needed; two days with no cell phone, tv or crowds. The hospitality was the best as was the conversation, fireplace and tea. Get past the 5 star hotel mentality and get ready to go back in time when life was simple. Rick and Charlene have great stories of the past and present, and the house itself has great history. The town is within minutes drive with great restaurants (all very quaint and ecclectic). Can't tell you much about the nightlife because we just wanted to get back to the house and sit by "our" fireplace. Thanks guys, we'll be back. Bobby

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Rick & Charlenes B&B. We found not only the house, but the owners very enjoyable and very hospitable. They were very accommodating with helping us make reservations at a near by restaurant along with supplying us with local knowledge and maps. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a great view of the pasture and barn. A hot breakfast was served daily which we found to be very delicious; We also enjoyed meeting and talking with the other guests. The Inn has a lot of history as you will notice on each bedroom door there is a small written bit of history along with a photo. Well worth the four hour trip and we look forward to returning in the near future. Thanks again Danielle & Bobby
