We tried the "loft" room this time and it worked out great. My husband and I were traveling with my son and nephew who are 18 and it gave them their space and we had ours. The food is always good, we never leave without having the huge breakfast buffet it's so worth it. My family and I have been going to the Red Racket since my son was 7 and enjoy our stay everytime. My favorite part of the hotel is it's view of the mountains in the lounge, love to sit during late afternoon and watch the sun go down. Just Beautiful. Thank you to the staff who always make it a nice experience.

Room Tip: Ask about the room types there are some rooms that have two beds and a couch that pulls out and they...

How nice to have your family with your 7 year old creating memories together that we know he will have forever: Thank you for letting us be a part of it!

We thank you for mentioning the great food Chef Christian has put together as well as the environ that makes the resort's views unparalled! We are fortunate to have the backdrop of the mountains to top off the thousands of details our team works hard at delivering. Your comments make it worthwhile and a source of pride.

Hoping to see your son around his 8th Birthday: Thank you and have a great upcoming Spring.

Steve Lambert, Chef Christian and resort team

WOW: The numbers speak for themselves: A family from Waterville with 14 people ranging from youthful 57 to a growing 1.5 year old all had a blast! We couldnt ask for a better recap and our cleanliness and food certainly are something to be boasting about; We may ask you to send us a family photo of you all having fun and put it on our Facebook (slambert@redjacketmountainview.com) is my email.

Thank you for sitting down to recap your great family visit and add about 150 resort staffers to your growing family of 14's friends list when you come up next...we love being a backdrop to important times people spend together!

Thank you again and have a great Spring - Steve Lambert and Team

“Overpriced”

Our kids wanted to try the Red Jacket Inn and we thought why not? In fact, I had fond memories from my childhood staying there. Unfortunately, it looks the exact same as I remember it from the 70's. Although renovations were made, it is still outdated and in my opinion, the renovations were basic; new wallpaper and rugs. For the price you pay for a room, I expected a larger bathroom (bathrooms are sooo tiny), more closet space, bigger tv's, more basic amenities in the room, again, when you pay the price you do. We paid $250 a night and I'm not clear on what we were paying for? We got the loft, which although neat for kids, it is exactly the same as when I was a kid! It's actually somewhat unsafe for little kids, there is only a railing on one side (adjacent to the wall) of the stairs to the loft, so the other side is completely open and provides the ability for kids to topple over - especially in the middle of the night, in a sleep induced walk to the bathroom. Also, the ceiling is slanted in the loft, so my daughter kept banging her head if she sat up quickly and forgot. The rooms were also PAPER thin!!! Granted, most hotels don't have the thickest walls, but we were shocked just how thin they really were. The first night, not sure where some parents were, but all we heard were groups of kids running up and down the hall yelling and laughing - first at 11 pm and didn't stop until 1 am. I didn't call the front desk because what could they really have done? Shame on those parents that allowed that! But even when people weren't yelling at 1 am, we still heard conversations as people walked through the hallways to get to where they needed to. Because we learned our lesson from the first night, we had the fan run constantly throughout our second night, just so we could have a normal night sleep.
The water park; obviously a huge hit for kids - but this is our biggest complaint; if you're staying at the hotel, that should absolutely be included in the daily rate. Especially since the rooms are so expensive, for nothing. It costs $20 pp, which is outrageous. But even worse, you have to pay that every time you enter throughout your stay! In the very least, you should be able to buy your band and it should be available for use during your entire stay with them! Again, everything overpriced!!!
The only two things we'd say positive about this stay; the spa - hands down, classy and fabulous services! I was very pleased there! And the overall staff throughout the resort; everyone was extremely nice and helpful which lessened our frustrations.
There are plenty of other resorts in the N Conway area and we'll try those next time.

“Absolutely Awesome Experience!”

Hi Steve, I just wanted to be in touch to thank you and the entire staff for the most wonderful week-end! (Friday 2/3-Sunday 2/5, 2012) The facility, the food, the activities, the staff, the view, The Water Park, breakfast buffets, prime rib buffet, the spa, cookies at the front desk (yum) ... we also found lots of smiling, helpful faces there. All of it outstanding! Sledding, sleigh ride, toasting marshmallows and nice hot chocolate at the fire pit before settling in for the night. Ceramics, movies, wii contest, Coco Keys, entertainment in the pub, church Sunday morning, following the critter tracks in the snow with the grand kids, the views, so many activities to chose from so much fun. A clean, well run, happy, attractive facility ... Kudos to all! ***** Red Jacket Mountain View Resort ROCKS ******** !!!!!!!!!!!!
If you would, please, let Malissa know, she and her staff provided us with a wonderful experience also. So much fun Friday evening @ the spa open house with wine, cheese, crackers, coffee and sweets. Hand wax treatments for the adults as well as the kids (how cool that was!). Enjoying the company of the staff as well as other families that stopped in was fun. And then, Saturday morning, a gift from my family, a most wonderful spa experience. I want to make sure that Johanna, the young lady that gave me the most amazing facial experience I have ever had (and I've had a few facials) knows that I think she is truly gifted. It is obvious that she loves what she does and where she does it. I found the spa inviting, clean, with smiling faces that seemingly has only one goal ... the comfort and pleasure of their clients. Sooooo, Kudos to the spa staff also! ~.~
