“Family Polar Express Trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We booked a polar express trip in December 2011 through the Cranmore Inn with a total of three families. The inn is in the process of remodeling, our family resided in the double bedroom efficiency which included a full sized fridge, TV, pull out couch, xmas tree, dishwasher and full stock of pots, pans etc. It was impeccably clean. The room could easily accomodate a family of four and was roomy enough for two small families (one in each room). All 10 people traveling in our group easily "hung out" in our hotel room at the end of each day.

One other family resided in a recently refurbished room with a double bed trundle which i believe would have pulled out to a double as well. Their room also had a fireplace and was impeccably clean as well.

One family did stay in a partially renovated or soon to be renovated room. It was slightly outdated (wall paper and water stains in bathroom from years of shower usage) but other than decor the room was also very clean.

From what we could tell most rooms on the second floor have been refurbished. We were able to peek into unoccupied rooms and they all looked very comfortable and very, very clean.

The breakfast cooked to order in the morning was very good and more than satisfactory. It is a sit down breakfast with table service. If you are looking for continental or buffet, this is not your place.

The sitting room downstairs is very comfortable and there is a side room with movies and a separate television for the kids. A nice touch to keep them busy while the adults talk.

The owners are some of the nicest persons you could ask to meet on your travels. They are conversational and have a great sense of humor. We had several small (not out of the ordinary) requests and all were met with a smile and sometimes a joke.

So why only 3 stars. As ALL hotels go this is only 3 stars due to no common computer and printer, and simply this is not meant to be a luxurious hotel. As bed and breakfasts go this is easily a 4 star. Why? Charm, great owners, clean rooms, good breakfast, GREAT LOCATION.

We have purchased polar express tickets and have stayed at the following hotels/inns in the nearby area; Jackson Lodge, Green Granite, Comfort Inn. Of all these hotels I feel that the Cranmore Inn gave us the most character and feeling of home than any of the other hotels. We would stay here again above all of the other hotels listed. If you are looking for a true 3 star HOTEL with buffet breakfast and standard amenities stay at the Comfort Inn.

BTW: I agree with all of the positive posts on this property as rated by other visitors.

Room Tip: ask for the two bedroom efficiency if you want to be separated from the kids or traveling with anoth...

“Very nice experience”

Stayed at the Cranmore Inn last weekend with my wife and children (two boys, 5 & 8) while we did the Polar Express / Santa's Village winter-get-away thing.

This inn is quite lovely. Loaded with period detail, yet recently renovated with all the comforts you could hope for in an authentic country B&B.

We stayed in room 203. Spacious and clean with a king size bed, trundle bed (sleeps two very comfortably), flat-screen TV, gas fireplace and modern bathroom. Perfect for the 4 of us. A tasty breakfast was served each morning.

The main floor had a festive, warm feeling; filled with Christmas decorations including a beautiful tree and model train, which the boys loved playing with.

Bob (the innkeeper) has done a tremendous job over the last 4 years remodeling the premises. Great guy to chat with - it's clear that he cares about his guests.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

“Beautiful Home Away from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

As always, our recent stay at the Cranmore Inn was truly outstanding. We stayed in the new "honeymoon suite" which is absolutely beautiful with traditional furnishings, hot tub, adjacent living area with fireplace, flatscreen TV, and all amenities along with calm and serenity. Innkeeper, Bob, is a most gracious host and is also responsible for all the refurbishing of this grand and elegant vintage inn, along with help from his very dedicated staff. Why stay in a "typical" hotel/motel, when there is this most wonderful, clean, and unique beauty to totally relax and delight all those that enter into her past? Conveniently located in the heart of North Conway Village and always a great value. I urge anyone visiting this area to find their comfort in this "beautiful home away from home".

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful and clean. Our favorite is the new "honeymoon suite" which...

“Wonderful family friendly experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We stayed this past weekend at the Inn and had a great experience. The inn has a lot of old world charm, while being updated and very clean. Christmas decor adorned the inn, giving it such a warm feeling. It was such a great experience for the kids too to have the comforts of home while away. The kids loved it, as did we. It was super convenient to many great attractions and very affordable. Bob, the owner, was very hospitable and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: We had the family suite that works well for 6 or even 7 with a cot if need be. This part is not upda...
