We did not stay at this Inn, but had dinner here. The atmosphere was nice, but somewhat dark making it hard to read the menus. The food and wine were very tasty, but the service was slow. They make a Caesar Salad table side that is fabulous.
Very pricey, but food was worth it!!

The 1785 Inn is a comfortable space to spend the night - do not expect any frills or romance. It's quiet and clean but nothing special. The inn keepers are really friendly and nice and the breakfast room is cute, overlooking the mountains and the inn grounds.
The food is okay - heavy and once again, nothing exceptional. But if you need a place to stay between things that's safe, clean and inviting, the 1785 Inn is it!

We spent our Anniversary weekend in the White Mountains and decided to have a celebration dinner at the 1785 Inn based on reviews we read. Thankfully we did not stay at the inn too. The restaurant service was terrible. We easily waited at least 30 minutes in between courses and our waiter was nowhere to be found. When he did stop by our table it was only to throw our food in front of us and run off again. We ordered wine, appetizers and the most expensive entrees but our waiter never came back to our table after serving our entrees to ask if our meals were cooked properly. Aside from the horrendous service, the meal was mediocre at best. The only saving grace was that the dessert was quite good. Other than that though, this was a very disappointing experience and it was way overpriced for the quality of food and service delivered. Save your money and go to Delaneys or Red Parka, they will provide a much better value. We visit the Mt. Washington Valley 3-4 times a year, we will not be back to this restaurant.

We stayed at the inn in March and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast! The staff was very helpful. They had a very cozy living room with a fireplace that we enjoyed relaxing in. It was a nice place to come back to after a day of shopping or skiing!
