I am here for three weeks while working in a nearby town. The room is adequate, two king beds - one mattress squeaky and one well past its prime, medium room fridge and tiny microwave, desk, swivel chair, plenty of lights. It has a truly great location at the entrance to Mt. Sunapee ski mountain and Sunapee state park beach. The staff is helpful. The breakfast includes carton-egg omelettes and Belgian waffles, cereals, coffees, breads. What is puzzling is that there is but one ice machine (which failed to produce ice for me on more than one occasion), that the water ran either too cold to bathe in or too hot to open the shower valve much more than a crack to shower safely, and that while I was here they chose to switch from cable to satellite TV, dropping ESPN in the process, on the eve of the baseball playoffs, no less.
The HVAC unit is quite loud even on low. The doors at the ends have card readers, but they do not recognize the room key cards. The exercise equipment is well past usefulness. There is, of all things, a stand-up tanning booth in the fitness room. The price here tops $300/night when tree season starts. That said, there really isn't a lot of lodging in this part of the state.
Digby's, the restaurant across the parking lot is under the same ownership. The seafood platter I had there for nine dollars off regular price was very good at that price, but I wouldn't order it at full price. It, like everywhere else around, closes at 9, so no help from them viewing Monday Night Football. There is a computer and printer on a shelf near the door to the dining area. The fact that you have to stand to use it keeps me from calling it a "business center." The wired/wireless internet connections were too slow most days to stream a movie.
In summary, adequate but overpriced. Some puzzling decisions have been made.
