Arrived at the airport for an interesting ride to the hotel in the van shuttle. The van was cold as ice and the driver was having a difficult time staying within the lanes on the highway.
The coldness, didn't stop there. This hotel is running on the "cheap". I arrived in the room only to find the heat wasn't turned on. It was so cold, I could see my breath (second time of the night). Everything in the room was cold to the touch. Including my bed, which took me awhile to fall asleep on the cold mattress. I immediately turned the heat on to the room to full blast. The room didn't warm up until the early morning (about 6 hours). In addition to the heat, I also turned on the iguana heat lamps in the bathroom. Yes those red lamps you may see at a buffet line to keep your food warm or to keep an iguana warm were in the bathroom. Classy.
The rooms are dimly lite. Only two spot lights illuminate the space. Good thing, because if I had good lighting, I would of had to stare at the outdated blankets. In addition, I would have gotten a better look at the pee stain located on the bottom of my mattress. Guess the solution was to just flip the mattress over to disguise the evidence.
It appears, the hotel attempted to remodel their rooms with dark paint, new desk, and night stands. However, it really looks like a half given effort. As I said earlier, it was done on the "cheap" Places like the hampton inn have had a successful remodel. This was more of a patch up, rather than a full on fix.
The breakfast (someone commented on this earlier) but once again, done on the "cheap". They had an extremely poor selection when I went down at 8am. They were out of muffins, pastries, and sausage. I wasn't in the mood for just-add-water eggs, so I stuck with the oatmeal.
The workout room was small and treadmill does skip at times, so be careful.
They do have a computer and printer. This was always taken up by a teenager watching youtube or searching facebook for hours on end. Wouldn't plan on getting any business work done here.
Only positives were the location to good food (applebees, subway, tai food) right across the street. They have a good tv selection, comfortable pillows, and large indoor pool. The DO heat the pool! Also, the woman at the front desk was really sweet and nice. Had cookies in the lobby in the evening.
Overall, I hope not stay at this comfort inn again. It was cold and cheap.
On a side note, I did happen to see a police car and someone in a vehicle in the hotel parking lot! Just thought I would add this, as someone noted crime in the parking lot earlier.
