We stayed at Fairfield Inn twice during our visit to the area in August. We ended back at Fairfield to weather Hurricane Irene. I was pretty upset that they jacked up their prices during the hurricane, as we had to extend our stay by a day because of the storm, but you do what you have to do.
The shuttle was great to have. The breakfast was amazing...lots of choices, eggs and sausage on the weekends (can't remember if it was offered on Sat and Sun, or just Sun). The downside was that we were traveling with young children, which still rely a lot on milk. They gave us a room with a refrigerator, but the room smelled a lot of cigarette smoke, so we asked to be moved to a different room. That room didn't have a fridge, but we made do with a cooler in the bathtub. :)
The hotel is close to the mall (just across the freeway).
The staff was great and helpful...and seemed to really enjoy my talkative 5 year old. They were very sweet, asking if we needed anything extra for the kids (milk or juice).
Room Tip: The elevator is slow and ice machines are not on every floor.
