We spent one night at the Radisson on New Years Eve. We wanted to be in the center of Manchester to do a little bar hopping and enjoy the night life. The Radisson had a huge New Years party going on, as well as having much of the conference center dedicated to the approaching NH primary election, but they still had rooms available approximately three weeks before the event. Although we did not attend the party, all of the hotel amenities were available to us. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was oversized. We were traveling with a friend, and the staff had obviously paid attention to our booking for three adults -- towels and other comforts were prepared for three. The view of Manchester's historic millyard district was excellent from the ninth floor. The front desk was fully staffed and made fast work of checking in a long line of guests. Even on perhaps the busiest night of the year, guest services greeted us by name when we called from our room and we were pleasantly surprised when our extra packages of coffee were delivered to our door within two minutes of our call. We started our evening in the hotel's restaurant, JD's Tavern. Service was a little bit slow on such a busy night, but all of the staff was polite, friendly, and apologetic. I highly recommend the calamari with sweet chili sauce. From the restaurant, we were within walking distance to JW Hill's, Jillian's, Murphy's Taproom, and the Wild Rover -- and those are only the bars we had time to get to. In the wee morning hours, we enjoyed breakfast at the Red Arrow before walking back to our room. Before checking out, we took advantage of the hotel's weekend buffet breakfast. It was very good, had all the basics plus a ton of delicious fresh fruit. A good time was had by our entire party. The Radisson was a fun and comfortable home base for a night of city life. My only disappointment? Parking in the hotel's garage was not free for guests. We were charged $8 per car for overnight parking.
