The owners are very pleasant and manage in a professional manner as evidenced by the presentation of the inn and their availability to the guests, if needed, while giving one the opportunity to explore the premisies. This inn has a restaurant that should be a distination in itself. As a foodie of the first order, I thought the evening meal and the morning breakfast were excellent and a good reason alone to visit this establishment. The inn layout is well arranged so that there are places in the common areas to read, talk or enjoy the views. The furnishings are nice and comfortable, and coffee is avaiable around the clock (important for early risers).

Our bedroom was smaller but nicely arranged and decorated. The bedding was exceptional - very high quality. A great sleep in a queen-size bed. The ensuite bathroom had a claw-foot tub which was probably great for soaking, but the shower arrangement therein was challenging. The wash vanity was dwarf height. Nice towels.

All-in-all, we definately plan to visit again on a yearly basis. A good find!

Breakfast and dinner were outstanding! The large jacuzzi in the room was relaxing. And the fireplace was perfect for the cold wintry weather. It was the perfect weekend getaway from Boston. We would go back.

I was going here with my boyfriend for a weekend get away. We weren't sure what we were going to get, so we went in with open minds. We were first greeted by one of the owners. We had made dinner reservations, so he brought us up to our room and we went back down for dinner. Much to our surprise we did have to wait, but we got to sit and have a few drinks. We actually received one one the house, which was super nice of them to do. We finally got seated. The food was amazing. The guests were super friendly and the waitress was on top of things. (even with how busy it was) Or room was very nice and had an amazing view. The breakfasts were also to die for. We also had a chance to sit down with the owner and just chat. He was super nice. He helped us out with things to see and do while in town. We didn't see much of the wife, but when we did she was also friendly.
My favorite part is that they aren't standing over you telling you what you can and can't do. We enjoyed being able to sit down stairs on the couch, listen to music and drink coffee. We also forgot to make reservations for dinner on the second night unfortunately, but the owner suggested a wonderful place for us.

The Ammonoosuc Inn is a wonderful place with a great restaurant where we. along with another close couple, spent a wonderful New Years. The place is lovely although the rooms are a bit small, but clean and more than adequate. The hosts were most friendly and hospitable even while busy with a full house. in fact one of the owners is the wonderful Chef that prepared our meals on both night that we were there and the other serves as bar tender and whatever else is needed. They were busy, yet warm, friendly and more than happy to accommodate any requests that we had. The location is a bit far from some of the daytime activities that we enjoyed..... but still has a beautiful view of a river and the surroundings. Our meals, dinners and breakfasts were excellent with a nice variety of choices. We enjoy finding a nice Inn with a restaurant to celebrate the New Years in a safe and fulfilling way.
