“My week at the Mountain Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

The Mountain Club on Loon was awsome. All the rooms / suits have been completely remodled. All new windows, flat sreen TVs, granite, tile, heating & cooling systems, flooring, appliances...this place is ALL NEW. The on site restaurant "Black Diamond Bar" serves great food and drink and the atmosphere is great. Live entertainment on Friday and Saturday. The best part is the ski in ski out! You literally role out of bed and your in Loon Mountain. There is no other ski in / out like this at Loon Mountain. The staff was friendly and helpful and really seem to enjoy working here. I will definately be back for another vacation.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are quieter and the views are much better. You hear the river running alll night lon...

“All of the Essentials--No Frills”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Mountain Club at Loon is ideal for a family. The Hotel has all of the essentials but none of the frills. It is located mountain-side which makes ski-out/ski-in most convenient, especially when traveling with with young children. The Kinsman Suite is the best. We recently stayed in a one bedroom suite, which was small. The kitchenette is barely equipped. I was thankful that I prepared our evening meal at home and just reheated it. Our room connected to another room with a small common entry-way. The door was extremely noisy every time it was opened. When booking, try to get a room with a mountain-side view. I was able to book a massage at the Viaggio Spa same day. The pool, although cold, and exercise facilities are adequate.

Room Tip: Mountain-side. Kinsman Suite if traveling with a large family.

“Convenient Ski In - Ski Out! Newly Renovated!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We just returned from a 4 night stay. We have stayed at the Mountain Club before, but since we skied there last winter a lot has changed. All the windows have been replaced with energy efficient glass, all the carpeting in the hotel has been replaced, in addition to carpeting the hallways, the lighting has been improved and the walls covered with grass cloth wallpaper and wood paneled wainscoting, the hot tub had been retiled, the exterior painted, better lighting in the ski locker area, and we were told a lot was done to upgrade the heating and air-conditioning. The wifi now worked well in our room.

The Black Diamond Grill had very good food. There was a real variety in food and price level. They have chicken fingers, burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and spaghetti for the kids. Inexpensive, but very good options, like a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans (very sweet and flavorful) and hamburger offerings for $10. The skirt steak with bacony Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes was excellent ($20). The maple balsamic salad dressing was "the best dressing I have ever tasted" according to one in our group. The beer, wine, specialty drinks, single malt scotch and bourbon selections were impressive!!

The heath club has indoor and outdoor (seasonal) pools, outdoor hot tub, and saunas, steam baths and whirlpools in the men's and women's locker-rooms. There is a cardio/aerobics suite, weight room, racket courts, and full service spa.

The Mountain CLub on Loon is the premier location at Loon Mountain, with true ski in/ski out access. Once you arrive, your car can stay in the covered garage area and you never need to leave the hotel and ski slopes!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a River View room as the grooming and snowmaking can be loud on the Slope Side rooms. Also...

“Very Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed at this property in early December with our two young children. The rooms were spacious and clean, but the decor and amentities were very outdated. None of the restaurants were open during our stay, so I would not be able to comment on the food. We found the dining choices in Lincoln to be very limited and also average (perhaps this was due to the timing of our stay). The kids enjoyed the pool, but it was very cold, and they were only able to swim for a short time as a result. We arrived around 1PM, early, but our room was not ready. Given that virtually no one was staying at the resort at this time, we were a little suprised that we had to wait a few hours to be given a room. Honestly, for what you pay nightly, we expected more. I am from a Western ski resort and would not pay the East Coast rates based on what you get for your money in New Hampshire. Disappointed.

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom suite - it was great for the kids!

Dear Guest:
Thank you for your observations and opinions regarding The Mountain Club. You stayed during a quiet time, just before the start of the season. Our restaurants were closed midweek, open on weekends during your stay, and I hope having a suite with a full kitchen was helpful. Our restaurants opened for the season a few days after you left, and are open seven days a week until the second week in April.
Concerning your comments regarding the pool temperature, we set the temperature to appeal a broad range of preferences. We’re sorry this was not comfortable for your children.
Regarding your room availability, we make every effort to have rooms ready upon your arrival no matter what the time. If they are not, we make every effort to complete them as quickly as possible. That’s our standard. We hope this did not cause you undue inconvenience.
We’re sorry you were disappointed, this is not what we strive for. Please do visit us again as I’m sure you will not be disappointed on your next visit.
Sincerely, The Staff at The Mountain Club on Loon.
