“Back To The Village Of Loon Mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

It had been years since my husband and I ventured up to Loon Mountain. We were invited to stay with family in one of the condos (3ME). The two bedroom and loft condo sleeps eight people comfortably. There are two full bathrooms, dining area, living room with gas fireplace and a kitchen that was fully equipped in order to cook your homemade meals. The view from (3ME) was spectacular! The warmth of the sun poured into the living room during the day. OH SO RELAXING! The amenities at The Village of Loon Mountain are numerous. The bus shuttle service goes back and forth all day. The convenience of cheaper ski tickets and rentals are also available. They also have a towel and linen exchange and a very helpful and friendly housekeeping staff. High speed internet is available in the Lodge and Condo Units. Check out their website to see more: www.villageofloon.com. Considering Loon Mountain didn’t have a lot of natural snow the mountain was in excellent condition during the week. Loon Mountain has 700 snow guns. On the mountain there are lots of trails including ice skating and tubing. Do you want to get rid of those winter blues? Adventure up to The Village of Loon Mountain

Room Tip: Some of the condos are closer to the resorts lobby, pool, game rooms etc. We were able to walk to t...

“Great Family Ski Area/Response to previous posting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I purchased a timeshare at this resort many years back when my children were toddlers. We purchased a 3 bedroom fixed unit for the February Massachusetts school vacation week. I did so because I know how expensive it is to travel that week and Loon is any easy drive from Boston. We have honestly been delighted as the kids learned to ski there, the mountain is very family friendly hosting novice to expert slopes. The village itself is more like a hotel. It sits directly across the road from the ski area in a beautiful setting and has a bus that shuttles all day to the ski entrance and back to the resort. The resort has a a great recreation center with several swimming pools and jacuzzis including an outdoor one, a great workout room, a video game room and a pool table game room so to say the least, very family friendly.
I just read a very disturbing review of someone who stayed at the resort recently which caused me to immediately call the resort to address it as I have always found the resort very clean to say the least. I was given assurance that the resort had the posting thoroughly investigated and the information according to the resort, is inaccurate. To provide peace of mind to their customers, they have proof of their pest control continuous treatments and had someone from the state come in to further confirm that the etiology of this posting did not stem from their stay at the Village. I suggested that the general manager respond but they stated that they can't do that as the units are owned by individual timeshare owners, even thou they manage them all. Hope this helps as I really do love it there and look forward to going back next week for our scheduled week! MTMB

Room Tip: Chalet fixed units are the best!

In general the village of loon was fine and as advertised. But we were left with a bad taste in our mouths when they charged us $25 because we lost our little plastic pool access card that costs them about ten cents to make. So keep your cards.

We are a family of 4 who love to travel, but not to spend a lot of money to do so. The Village of Loon Mountain allows us to do both. We are timeshare owners of a 1 bedroom. With a family of 4, my husband and I sleep in the bedroom and the kids are on the pullout sofa sleeper. The fully furnished kitchen is fantastic -- allows us to save a ton of money by not eating out all the time. I head to the local Price Chopper (the prices are good - not your typical tourist town prices) and get goodies for for the week.
The location is a perfect base for the area. Lincoln is a beautiful town and we are directly across the street from Loon Mountain ski area. You can use coupons from the front desk for ski rentals - $10 a pair! And the service at the equipment rental (a satellite location of Village Ski in Lincoln) is top notch.
It snowed almost every day we were there, and the plows were out immediately to clear the roads and sidewalks. The pools were a hit after spending the days out in the cold. The front desk staff were all very nice and informative.
Village of Loon is not the most plush, expensive place to stay by far. But it is very serviceable, comfortable, and clean. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good value for their family vacation.

We booked this thru owner who mistakenly sold me the wrong timeshare week. Fortuntely the timeshare people found an equivalent place for us to stay. I should have verified this before booking.
We stayed in a LOWER unit 2 bedroom condo. Originally built in the 70's. The living area was tiny. It was drafty. The tile floors were ice cold. There is no insulation from the noise of the family of people above. One could hear them talking and every footstep pounding the creaking floor above. The bedroom has a 2nd door which opens to the hot water heater AND the stairwell for the people upstairs. All the sounds from above can be heard. Very disturbing when you are trying to sleep in the morning. There was also a repetitive banging sound like a sewing machine. I think it might have been a well pump when the people turned on the water.
There is no housekeeping. You have to bring your dirty towels and trash to another building.
No cell phone service!(AT&T, Verizon) at the condo , nor outside of the condo.
Minimal internet service, especially in the evening.
The pool facility was good. Having a separate area for family swim vs adult lap swim was good. 3 large hot tubs. One is outside.

Room Tip: Avoid lower 2 bedroom condo unit. Floors are cold and drafty. No privacy from the people walking o...
