We stayed in the cabin closest to the office at Franconia Notch Motel and had a nice stay ... the little river was right outside the back ... nice to listen to while sleeping with the windows open. The air conditioner did work fine when we wanted it ... the fridge had to be adjusted to the temperature we wanted, but was fine as well. We had no problems with neither the internet connection, nor the tv. There were also several clean blankets and pillows in the room. The desk staff was friendly and there was no communication problem at all. I mean, it's definitely not The Ritz, but you're in the mountains ... what do you expect? The only problem we had was the tub did not have a mat and there was no plug if you wanted to take a bath. I remedied both issues by purchasing my own rubber mat and plug.

We will definitely be back.

We needed an inexpensive stay for just one night and ended up here. The young man at the desk was polite. We knew it wouldn't be much, but that is an understatement. I could furnish this better from a yard sale! Tiny room and it had an "ick" feeling to it. The room smelled bad and the windows were both open when we arrived. I think it is old cigarette smoke in the tiled ceiling. Everything is ancient, nothing matches, not even a regular plug in the bathroom for your razor and hairdryer - it is on the light above the mirror - circa 1960. There are many, many motels and cabins within two miles of this one, some looked downright scary, but many looked "charming" - outside that is. Camping might be a better option.

They don't understand English. Mini fridge was a freezer, ruined all the food. Internet connection from main building is very poor and they shut it off on day 2. TV barely worked. You share water with neighbor be prepared if showering at same time. Nice location, very tiny room, quaint sitting area on the river behind the cabins, clean but needs touch-ups like stained ceilings.

The cabin was dirty. The blanket on the bed had stains in it. The sheets in the sofa bed were dirty and crumpled and had not been changed from the last visitors. There was mould in the shower tray and around the edge on the tiles. We did not want to put the heater on as there was so much dust in the grill. It was beyond being shabby and definitely not of the standard expected in the USA. When we complained, the young man behind the desk was defensive and uncooperative; he said that this was the best it could be cleaned and what did we expect for the money? They clearly have had other complaints.
