We visited there over several weekends due to a family crisis. The staff is very welcoming and thoughtful. The rooms are quiet and the bed is very comfortable. The sitting area in front of the fireplace is very soothing. An added bonus is the pool table

My wife and I stayed at the Inn on New Year's eve. We had a five course dinner at O's, the restaurant on the property. The chef is awesome and the meal was unbelieveable.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished and each is unique. Our room had a gas fireplace and was very spacious. I have used their massage service in their spa and that is another great attribute of this property.

Over the course of Christmas Eve thru New Years Eve, my sister and I stayed at the Inn two times. Going to New England is going home (both my sis and I are California residents now) but it being the holidays we didn't want to burden family with two more bodies to accomodate. The inn was a fabulous choice and proved very relaxing, yet within driving distance to most family. We have, as a family stayed there twice before. We lost both parents in 2008. Both services were held in Lakeport and the Inn proved a supportive and empathetic locale for family to stay, as well as comfortable. The Inn will be on the top of the Miller Family's list forever.

My husband and I loved staying at the Lake Opechee Inn & Spa. We went early October 2011 for our anniversary. The inn is clean, well-maintained, and nicely decorated. Our room had a balcony with a lake view. My favorite was the sitting area with comfy chairs in front of the fireplace (with TV above). I relaxed there each day/evening after our adventures. Laconia is close to several small towns we visited including Meredith. The staff was helpful and polite. We did get some attitude from the host of the hotel restaurant when we told him we did not have a reservation for dinner (this was the night of our arrival). They were not extremely busy and we got a table with no wait, so I am not sure what the issue was. Our waitress was very nice and helpful recommending menu items. We used the workout facility onsite. Nothing spectacular, but they have a treadmill, free weights, etc. The equipment was clean and a TV is in the workout room too. When we went, we were the only ones in there. They have complimentary breakfast (toast, fruit, cereal, coffee, hot chocolate). We got hot chocolate each morning before starting our drive.
