“Keeping up with the Jones”

This place is WAY over priced for what they offer. It is nothing more then a place for people to go show off their money. Big boys and their big toys. The beach bar is overpriced for the quality and portions that you get. If you want to go to a place where the so called "beautiful" people go to show off and flaunt their money then this is the place for you. As for me,,,, being there makes me sick. All the wanna bees and posers, hanging out and leaching off the rich lonely people is a joke. Pleanty of beautiful places on Lake WINNI to stay without being subjected to that kind of BS.

“Location, location, location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We stayed in one of the cottages right on the beach. It was absolutely perfect, nothing fancy just what you needed. We had a small kitchenette, dining table, even a screened in porch! What was best was being right on the beach of the lake. It was so peaceful just to sit outside and enjoy the view. Liked it so much we are returning in the spring!

Room Tip: You have to call to rent cottages, can't rent them on line.

“Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011 via mobile

I've been going to this area since I was akid and to the Naswa, 4 girls weekend ,4 twenty one years.we have stayed at the resort for the last 3 yrs. Karen the owner runs a tight ship, but is accesable and really seems to care for her staff. She also does'nt hesitate to join in the fun, but manages to do it w/professionism& class. She may have learned that from her dad, the previous owner,w/ whom i've had the pleasure to share a dance or two w/! GRHS THE whole naswa team makes you feel like part of the family. If your looking for a new vaca spot w/the girls the guys or t he family this is THE PLACE ! Beachbar-food,drink,entertainment& service excellent Rooms-clean,comfy &convenient for after afew cocktailes! The suite is great for a group, though the cottages are a little more private. The rooms on the hill r grreat too.you will get a little workout, but that never hurts when you are eating & drinking all that good stuff.a The dining room is also great , especially breakfast over looking the sparkleing lake. you are also a cab ride away from the nightlife of the weirs beach if I could I would give the NAZ 10 STARS!!!!

“An OK place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This is an average place to stay -- nothing spectacular but nothing really wrong with it either. They get the basics right -- the room was clean with free wi-fi and cable TV. But don't expect anything more -- the rooms have a bit of a 1970s feel with the bare minimum for amenities (I didn't have a desk in my room), so if you're expecting the Ritz Carlton, you're going to be disappointed.

In general, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only exception I can think of was some of the staff in the beach bar, who were less than friendly.

The location is good -- there's a small beach by the hotel and there are restaurants and various recreational establishments (e.g. golf courses, go-karts) within a short driving distance.

“Had a Wonderful Weekend at the Naswa”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

My Husband and I stayed at the NASWA resort in June for a wedding. We were lucky enough that most people attending the wedding were also staying at the resort, which made our weekend even more fun. We were blessed with bright sunny weather, although just cold enough that we didn’t go swimming. Our room was located in the Motel Terrace which is located on the lake side of the resort.. I liked staying there because we were able to park the car right in front of the room, which made unloading our luggage very easy. Our room was a little outdated and could use a makeover, but it was clean and quiet. I am used to sleeping on a firm mattress, so I thought that the mattresses in the room were a little saggy. There was plenty of room for our luggage and my husbands video equipment he needed for the wedding. There was a little patio just outside the door with two chairs overlooking the parking lot. Down the end of the Hall from our room there was an ice vending machine and a snack machine, so you could grab some midnight snacks. Our friends who were also staying at the resort, were staying at a suite at the inn across the road. Their suite was the size of a 3 bedroom condo, and more updated compared to our motel room. The only downside to where they were staying across the road was the noise of the motorcycles going up and down the road. Which you could hear from inside of their suite. We were lucky enough that we didn’t hear any of the noise coming from the road. The night before the wedding everyone got together for a barbecue on the beach catered by the Naswa resort. We had a nice time sitting on the shore and the food was great. The Staff at the Naswa resort were always happy to help with whatever was needed. The Beach Area was always clean and raked every morning. The width of the sandy beach from waters edge to the buildings seemed a little short, which is probably a problem in the summer when everyone wants to go swimming. I could see how it might get crowded. We enjoyed early morning strolls along the waters edge and would have liked to take out a paddle boat which is offered to the guests free of charge, but we were too busy with the wedding to have time. The Naswa is located just minutes away from weirs beach, where the wedding took place. Our last day at the Naswa we had breakfast at the Naswa Restaurant. We definitely didn’t leave hungry. We both ordered the Caribbean Cinnamon French Toast with sauteed Bananas in Dark Caribbean Rum with Toasted Coconut and Whipped Cream. It was really good. The Resort wasn’t too crowded. Enough people were there that it made the nights lively, but not overly noisy that you couldn’t find peace and quiet away from the scene. I booked my stay at the NASWA resort, based on most of the reviews on this site. As long as the room was clean and quiet, I didn’t mind overlooking the outdated decor. I would stay there again, Maybe when its a little warmer so I could enjoy the water. I recommend staying on the lake side of the resort.
