Shaker Hill B&B is out of town in a nice area, plenty of parking for everyone. Yes, Nancy has cookies out during the day and hot water for tea any time! My kind of place! The location is very close to tons of attractions. Specifically, we enjoyed tasting ciders at Poverty Lane Orchard and driving by Dartmouth! And a short trip to VT (just a few minutes away) is Billings Farm (www.billingsfarm.org) - An excellent stop for anyone that enjoys museums, history, influential people of the 19th-20th centuries, land preservation, farming.
Our rooms were spaceous, super clean, and very comfortable. The owners Al and Nancy were super helpful in finding us things to see and places to eat. We ate at Salt Hill Pub, probably our best meal of the trip (Beef and Guiness stew, tasty! Woodchuck Spiced Hard Cider, yum!) AND the pub has a night of irish music, just a group of fellows that sit at a table and play music. It's consistent music, a good level of sound (we could still visit) and I could have stayed there all night listening!
Okay, one slight negative, the place is right on the road. But, the road is fairly quiet and we stayed in the bedroom closest to the road and slept just fine, no noise.
And, the dogs are a bit goofy, but Al and Nancy keep track of them fairly well. Except for after breakfast when the older dog jumped up and kissed a guest... lol
