My husband and I booked a night here to break up our drive to NYC in March - it was strictly for convenience. Usually we don't mind a low-end motel chain when all you really need is a bed and a bathroom, because we have had pretty good luck with them being clean and adequate. Not this one.

When we walked in to the office to check in, the guy at the desk (not exactly Mr. Charming) was smoking. Gross. The "continental breakfast" section right there in the smoke filled office area, a counter with a few containers of dry cereal. We knew we wouldn't be stopping in for a morning snack.

The room was gloomy and old and awful. Nothing about it seemed clean or fresh. The carpet was gross. The mattress was the old spring kind with striped ticking. We made the best of it, but the kicker was when we turned out the light to go to sleep and could hear someone in the adjacent room snoring !! We got up as early as possible and got out of there.

After my trip started 10/27 in SE New England the freak fall snowstorm of 29-30 Oct. 2011 knocked out all phones, electricity, internet. My business appointments 10/31-11/2 in the area were totally disrupted, so I returned early to NYC to reschedule for future dates. Upon regaining phone service 10/31 PM I called the Rodeway in Claremont where I had reserved for 10/31. They said to contact Expedia. I offered to take a rain check / future credit. After a long hold with Expedia, they said that the Rodeway had refused both a refund and a rain check

My wife and I were visiting NH, we drove from TX, to spend some time with our daughter, son-inlaw, son and our 4 grandkids. The have a lakeside camp cottage located close to Claremont but accomodation would be cramped so we elected to stay in a hotel. We knew we would be spending all day and evening with the family so we looked for an economical, "motel"as a place to sleep and shower. The Rodeway Inn appeared to fit our model for price and being part of the Choice Hotel chain we trusted the hygenie, security and facilties would be adequate. We spent 10 nights at this hotel which met our expectations. The hotel is an old style, "motel" with parking outside your room door. The rooms are small, we had to pass our suitcases over the bed to get them to the luggage holder, there was insufficient clearance between the bed and the TV cabinet. The room, bedding and towels were clean but near the end of their lives.There was a refrigerator and microwave but no coffee maker, wifi service was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was adequate with plenty of hot water.There was no noise problem at night. Breakfast was coffee and toast or cereal, we used Dunkin Donuts. We expected what we got and got what we expected. The hotel is a safe place to sleep, shower, and change clothes for a reasonable price in a resort area, if you are claustrophobic and need space it's not the place for you.

This hotel was absolutely unsanitary. I was traveling with business colleagues and was disgusted to find matted hair and dead bugs in the beds and bathroom. When I went to the front desk to inquire about a room change or refund, I could not find anyone on staff. I returned to my room for a terrible night's stay where I slept on top of clothes i laid out on my bed, so as not to touch the sheets. In the morning when I showed the conditions to the front desk, they refused to give me even a partial refund. They blamed me for not coming to them sooner (when it was their absence that made a room change impossible) and were incredibly rude.
