this is a good hotel to stay at for a night.we were traveling and stopped for the night.rooms were clean ,what else do you want for 59.95..the hotel is old and outdated, bathrooms are small and not the best but it serves its purpose.free internet,tv,refrigerator.microwave and a guest kit with toothpaste, gum, advil, icy hot, granola bar..not bad....free continental breakfast, coffee, muffins, juice.bagels and cream cheese and donuts...good choice for a place to stop .

“very dissapointed”

I'd like to start off to say that when you first pull into the parking lot, its like something you see out of a bad horror movie. When we went to check in, the gentleman behind the desk was not very friendly or a people person at all. Then when we went to our room, there were men working on the roof of the hotel right above our room. And when we didnt think it could get any worse, as we got closer to the room we noticed the room door was slightly open and an extension cord was going into out hotel room!!!! The construction workers that were working on the roof above our room were advised by the owner to use our room to plug in their extension cord! I was in such shock. The room was flithy with work boot tracks and dirt. We had to ask the guy working their to go in and atleast please vaccuum the carpet. We tried going back and demanded a new room but they supposedly had no more rooms available even though the sign outside the hotel in bright neon lights blinked "Vacancy". And this was all just the beginning. The room smelt like dust. it was not clean at all! there were little holes in the walls, and the toilet stopped flushing mid-night. The drain in the shower didnt drain. I could go on forever. For the money we paid, we got ripped off! i do not reccomend this hotel to anybody

“Good motel at reasonable rate.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2009

The motel offers good rooms at a reasonable rate. They have done some refurbishing which makes the motel worth staying at. The only issue we noticed was a slight smell of mustiness in the room.

“Clean and Quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2008

My four-year-old Son and I stayed at the Claremont Motor Lodge for a week in August (2008). The Owners had just installed new siding and windows and the contractors were finishing up around the office area and had the soffits and fascia boards left to replace. The furniture, bedding and drapes appeared new as well. The room was clean and furnished with a sofa bed, coffee table, queen size bed (extremely comfortable), large four-drawer dresser, coat/hat shelf, small refrigerator, microwave and TV. To my surprise, we also had free wireless internet! The bathroom was clean and included a tub/shower. The Motor Lodge is located on the opposite side of the river from the main road (just cross a bridge and you're there) in a residential area, so it was very quiet - no street noise. The office had free coffee and muffins/bakery items every morning. Our first morning there, my Son walked out of our room and asked why the air smelled different. I told him to breath in deep - "that's clean air, Son! Just clean air" (We live outside of Atlanta, Georgia). As a transplanted New Englander, I really enjoyed my stay at Claremont Motor Lodge and being back up North.

“Worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2008

It's been said it isn't the Ritz and that's true. However, it is clean, quiet and reflects the NH lifestyle. The place sits off the road in a residential/rural area away from traffic and loud noises: yet each room is visible from the office and the restaurant on the other side of the stream.

The towels could be thicker and those cold Spring nights could stand for the heat to work: but you can get extra blankets and a sweat shirt worked fine too.

They accept dogs for a fee and there's plenty of space along the stream to walk them but bring a long lead because there's a berm; unless you're into climbing.

Good location, nice folks and the unhappy patrons are probably too sophisticated to appreciate the basics.

Only downside is that it is not conducive to working with your laptop, though they do have wireless. Only place to sit is on the couch and bend over coffee table; it's just hard on your back but I've been in more expensive places with the same problem.
