We cut our camping short due to rain, but didn't want to break the budget. Above the Notch gave us exactly what we needed. Nothing like a warm room and hot shower to make you feel human. Surprisingly, they even had in room coffee and fridge!

And that is what we got, nothing else. The room was "clean" - the bathroom could have used some new caulking and tile as there was years of mildew stains. The white sheets were crisp and clean, the duvet covers were very worn and old as were the mattresses. I was hoping for the price, things would have been a bit prettier. I thought this place was over priced and over rated. The kicker is, is that all hotel/motels up are that expensive.

For the price you cannot get any better! I would reccomend to anyone who does not need the free tickets you can get from staying on a Bretton Woods property.

We went up with a few other couples who all stayed across the street at the Mt. Washington Hotel. We saved a BUNCH of money by doing so. It's certainly an old style motel, but I think we paid about $65 a night. This is the place to stay if you just need a place to sleep and shower, and maybe get a little downtime wih some television or something. We took the $300 we saved each night and went to some of the best restaurants and bars in the area. Actually, we hung out at the Cave at the Mt. Washington Hotel much of the time. I'm always telling people to stay here!
