My husband surprised me with an anniversary overnight at this lovely early 20th century inn. Our hosts met us at the door, took our luggage to our room, gave us a personal tour of the the historic inn and invited us to afternoon tea. When we entered our room there was soft music playing, a lovely anniversary card on the bed and a fire warming the room.
With 2 fireplaces, lots of comfortable seating, a pool table and various games and puzzles available in the inn, there were lots of ways to wind down and relax in the beautiful setting.
This inn also has a small dining room that is open to the public. The menu offers a nice variety and the dinners were attractively presented as well as delicious. I found the salad greens, in particular, to be very fresh and tender, which is no small feat in the winter of rural, northern New Hampshire.
Breakfast included their signature popover, lovely fruit and a heavenly apple torte, all beautifully presented.
Ilya and Brad are perfect hosts... welcoming, interesting and attentive to detail. We very much enjoyed our stay and dream of returning.
