After booking this hotel on a well known and trusted web site I found myself in a bad situation at the Budget INN in Berlin NH. I had bought a "pig in a poke." The description of this room and the location were totally fabricated. The hotel itself was so run down, dark and unkept. The room so dirty I couldn't bring myself to walk barefoot on the carpet. At 7PM, when I checked in I was met by a darkened lobby and when a guy in pajamas emerged from the back room to check me in I knew I was in for trouble. But, what could I do? It was dark, raining, I was in an undesirable neighborhood, unsure of the area, scared and I had to pay even if I didn't stay(over $100.) Well...I can't tell you how fast I left at daylight. This incident certainly should not have happened. There are always dishonest people out there to take advantage of us all. Doesn't anyone check out the hotel listings as well as other travel services they offer to us all everyday in so many ways. And should'nt there be some guarantees from these companies? WHO CAN WE TRUST?
