This was a one-night travel stop while going across the country, so I appreciated the easy on/off access to the I-80 freeway. The mexican restaurant and the casino inside the hotel property were nice diversions on a long road trip. Good food!

Nice touch of a dorm fridge and microwave in the room.

Unfortunately, I came the same time as the first big winter storm, and the pipes froze. There was no hot/warm water in the morning which was not only an inconvenience but an unacceptable situation for a location that should have experience in dealing with cold winters.

I can't belive how nicely this hotel kept. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is very clean and breakfast is plus. This is one of the best in Winnemucca. I stayed on other properties in Winnemucca, but this Express is the best place to stay.

Hotel did not honor price quoted when booked....even though it was confirmed with credit card. It was a very busy weekend. They sold my room to someone else at a higher rate than they had booked mine, canceling my reservation without my knowledge. When I showed up, they found rooms for my party, BUT charged us more than double what was quoted. They manager has refused to make it right, as has Holiday Inn Customer Service. Beware of the poor service and management of this property!

“Worst experience from any hotel”

Front desk was always empty with no way to get anyone to help you. The casino smells the entire hotel of smoke. Staff had the attitude of fast food service reps. Booked an overpriced meeting room which was just a big hotel room converted with the worst table and chairs known to man to use. Did I mention the terrible hospitality of the staff? This is the worst experience I have had in any hotel and I travel quite often.

“Nice Renovations”

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel when traveling through Winnemucca. I was nicely surprised to see the rooms had recently been renovated with crisp white comforters and refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. Also, the hot breakfast bar was much better than on previous trips with individual bottles of milk/chocolate milk, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs in a fridge. The hot food was actually "hot" and tasted pretty good. They had flavored coffee creamers too. The hotel was very clean and comfortable.
On a previous stay, I had noted the rooms to be a little run down, but now they have done a great job on the renovation.
Also, the location of the hotel is great. It's right off I-80 at the West end of town, so it's easy to get on and off the highway.
On a trip through Winnemucca, this is the place to stay!
