We stayed on 1 November and loved it. The welcome was warm with recommendations on dinner and sites based on what we liked to do. The room is small, but had all we wanted. The bed was very comfortable and the shower very hot on a chilly morning. Coffee was waiting for us in the morning as well. It is an easy walk into town and the view of the sunrise from the room was stunning. Overall, an outstanding experience. If we are in Virginia City again, this is our first stop. Thanks for a great stay.

We traveled with our four children and stayed two nights at the Sugarloaf Motel. The welcome we received from Jim and Michelle was warm and genuine. No fuss, nothing fancy, just good honest motel facilities. The view from the front of the motel was great, especially during a storm. We would recommend the Sugarloaf Mountain Motel to anyone visiting this interesting town.

My husband and I, along with several friends, traveled to Virginia City for the Hippie Daze Parade and Concert. It was a wonderful trip, and Jim and Michelle Souza were an unexpected bonus package. Jim and Michelle are the ultimate hosts of hosts. After calling several motels in the Virginia City area, I booked at Sugarloaf Mountain Motel because of the friendly and genuine conversation over the phone with Michelle. My instincts were right-on, because from arrival to departure Jim and Michelle were there to make sure the visit was "perfectly" fun.
The accommodations very clean, comfy, cozy and quaint, and just the right walking distant from of all the activities on C Street. There is no place else I would want to stay in Virginia City. Just wish I could magically clone Michelle and Jim to wherever I travel!

Jim and Michele are the epitome of hosts. We have never stayed at a commercial establishment where we actually felt like family. The rooms were spotless, quiet and very comfortable. Nice walk to town. We will definately be staying again.
