My girlfriend, Laurie, and I stayed at The Tahoe House B&B in Virginia City and were VERY pleased!! We were in Virginia City to see the Dan Hicks concert at Piper's Opera House (another very cool venue from the 1850's). The Tahoe House exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds. We stayed in the presidential suite which had a balcony overlooking the main street. The room was decorated beautifully in tasteful 1850's style. It was spotless and whimsical. What a trip into silver mining history. We felt like we'd arrived by stagecoach and entered back in time! I had the opportunity to play some ragtime piano at the old upright in the parlor while guests sat and chatted over coffee and pastries. And of course there's Tammy, the hostess.......a local history sage overflowing with warmth and helpful knowledge. What more can I say. Ok, how about this: If you stay in Virginia city, make this B&B your first choice!! Absolutely wonderful!!! Doug Bratt, Truckee, CA
