“If You Plan To Ski Mont Bleu Is Not Bad.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I recently stayed at the Mont Bleu Casino while on a week long ski trip to Lake Tahoe. (The skiing is in another review). I traveled with a ski group and the trip was organized with Mont Bleu as our hotel option so I really didn't have a say on where we stayed. After staying at several different hotels in Vegas on prior trips this casino was clearly not at the same level. The buffet while we only ate at once for dinner was only $12.95 and was just average. We found the Harrah's buffet to be much better. The hotel/casino is located only a short walk away from the gondola at Heavenly or you can ride the free shuttle bus which stops right in the hotel parking lot. The rooms were a bit worn and outdated but they were clean and ours had a nice jacuzzi tub. The hotel also has a nice gym, pool & spa located on the 1st floor which my friends & I used each day after skiing! We ate breakfast each morning in the casino at Cafe Del Sol. The food was good and the service was nice. We also ate lunch here the day we arrived, $0.99 tacos and they were great! Also, if you are skiing keep in mind that you can check your skiis or board at the hotel ski shop for your entire stay at no charge. It's definately easier than carrying them up and down from the room. All in all the place was just above average. Not great but it was home for the week.

“stay and play”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Me and a couple friends took a trip to south tahoe to do some skiing and we decided to stay at the monteblue hotel and casino. The casino was pretty decent size and the staff was mostly friendly. Its was clean and not too busy until sat. night. The one thing we did not find too nice was the smell of cigarettes which was a bit nasty, but i guess its a casino. The rooms were ok, nothing special. Nothing to complain about or to highlight with the room. The food at the buffet was pretty good and priced right. The buffet was 12.95 and considering the price of food on the mountain this was a real steal. The one thing that was a bit annoying was that the free wifi did not work anywhere in the hotel. If you are looking for a big party try the opal lounge where every night is a party. All in all it was a decent place to stay for the money.

Room Tip: if you want to not be woken up all night ask for a room away for the younger crowds.

“Decent stay if you get a good rate.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We've stayed here before when it was Caeser's and it has aged somewhat since then. The rooms are large and bath areas are also very large, beds comfortable. We ski here frequently and we usually choose one of the casino resorts so that we can order room service if we'd like and also gamble if we choose. Couple of things to note: Weekends are extremely busy (lots of teenagers and young adults) with lots of partying. There were numerous "parties" on our floor and we overheard several people that complained to management of the yelling, slamming doors, pot smoking, etc. The doors don't extend completely to the floor (small gaps at the bottom) so you can hear everything that is going on in the hall. Weekdays were much quieter. Internet was $24/day but parking was free. We got a 50% off rate of $65 weekend/$39 weekday so it was a good value. Would stay here again if we got a good deal.

Room Tip: Upper floors, obviously, have the best views of the lake and the mountain.

“...Ok...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We stoped for one night at Montbleu at Lake Tahoe.
The room was clean (except for the cigarette butch we found by the bath). The sheets were clean, the lake view is more an overview of the other casino across the road. The big bath in the room was sort of nice.
We were there on a wenesday so the place is a bit quiet.

“Ok... but not a four star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Not terrible but certainly not four star quality. The hotel itself is just old and run down looking. Carpet in the lobby on the way to the elevator is taped with silver duct tape where it's ripped. The hair dryer in our room blew up within five seconds of using it (smoke and all). We requested early maid service when we left the hotel at 8am. Room still wasn't clean at 1pm when we returned. Paid extra $ to be on a higher floor with a view... ended up on the 6th floor with a lovely (not) view of the parking lot... only positive thing I can think of was the indoor pool.

I would probably pick somewhere else to stay next time in Tahoe, there are so many options.
