While attending a meeting at this location, i found that I was satisfied with this hotel and the way they treat their guests. They try to keep their guests happy, so that you will spend money in the casino and not leave the premises. Since the location is not near anything, it is easy to stay there and the management tries to provide everything you need to be content.
The room (in the remodeled section) was clean and comfortable. However we did not have a good view (saw roof top/ ac units). The many restaurants were all good with some reasonably priced options such as Rosie's cafe and the deli. The Starbucks in the lobby was a welcome alternative as well. The higher end steak restaurant served a delicious meal as well.
While not a big fan of staying at casino-hotels, this one was clean, not too smoky, and definitely adequate.
The downsides...Reno doesn't have that much to see or do, unless you are into the casino night life. After renting a car, we looked around Reno and felt that our hotel was at least as good, if not better, than any of those. The spectacular Lake Tahoe is a couple hrs drive so you will need a rental car. It was definitely worth the drive. There is a shuttle from the airport to Lake Tahoe, but it is pretty pricey (ie $75 for one r/t).
With the hotel itself, the negatives included:: no free premium channel on the t.v, tiny coffee for one for the coffee maker and obstructed views from our room. There were many college or high school teams there but no rowdy groups. Crowd seemed fine. As usual, the hotel and restaurants in the casino were all very dark.
The biggest drawback was that the hotel is outside of Reno and there is nothing nearby to do. You can catch a bus or rent a car or take a cab, but nothing is in walking distance. Having said that, if you like gambling and are there for a short weekend stay, the hotel has everything you need under one roof.
