“Small rooms, poorly equipped, lousy television”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This hotel has seen better days. The rooms are small and still have old, very small televisions that cannot be seen very well from the bed because they are so small. There is no refrigerator and no free internet access. The rooms are clean and maintained as well as possible, but they need refurbished. Also, breakfast is a problem for business travelers, as the buffet doesn't open until 10:00 (apparently because gamblers sleep late). Also, the location is in a very crowded, closed in section on Reno.

“Always a safe bet in Reno”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have stayed at this hotel many times and always find the room/service to be great. Normally, I have stayed in the East Tower (prev. Hampton Inn) and found the rooms to be great. This time I was "upgraded" to the west tower. I found the rooms to be smaller, but just as clean. I think I was "Upgraded" because there was NO ONE around downtown Reno. Both in the Casino and in the streets, there was very few people. Having stayed at all the major casino/hotels in Reno, Harrah is the four season's of them all. The only bad spot in the hotel is the buffet. For the price, it was lousy. Also, the addition of Hash House a Go Go is a better bargain for your money. However, the potion sizes are too hugh and unless you can't bring them home, you end up wasting food and money.

“Nothing like Vegas - old and outdated - great location for Reno”

Recently spent 4 days at Harrahs Reno. Had an upgraded Jr. suite in the west tower and the room was really shabby. Light bulbs out, burns in the carpet and dirt everywhere. Large room but filled with useless furniture like couches and huge chairs but no dining table or dining charis so I could eat in my room like a human being and not be leaning over a coffee table while sitting on an old lumpy couch. TV was small maybe 32 at best. Bathroom was nice and large and everything worked well in there except for in the dressing area where the safe was which didn't work and I had to call the man to fix it upon arrival.
the only savin grace of this stay was the harrahs Steak House. Incredible service and food and I will return for meals there for sure.
Front desk staff was nice and accommodating but the VIP people were tight wads such that high rollers won't want to even consider this spot.

Room Tip: Go for the east wing ... rooms are smaller but they have bigger TVs and are much newer and nicer tha...

“Just Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We flew to Reno NV to visit with my family,(daughter, Grandbaby) we stayed at the Harrah's. The only good thing about our room was it had a balcony. Our room had 2 full size beds and I am used to sleeping on a queen with my husband and the mattresses were not very comfortable. I ended up having a headache for our whole 4 day stay. We did not gamble very much, The casino itself needs an update to say the least it is just kind of average. I went to the spa and had a massage, the spa facility seemed nice. The Hash house a go go We ate at 3 times there food was interesting. The buffet restuarant is not open for breakfast so we did not try it. They have an Ichibans Japanese steakhouse on site We were going to eat there but my headache was too extreme on that evening. We stayed at the Harrah's once before and had a very nice room so thought we would go back . Next time We fly out to Reno NV WE will stay at a different hotel. The Joy Luck Noodle restuarant is very good in the Casino. Our view from our room was nice. I did not see much of the staff so I cannot say how they are. We had the best time we could have visiting with family I will go back to Reno Nv many times. Thanks for allowing me to write a review, Travel Advisor Oh I almost forgot, there was a fire at a building right outside our window, happy to say no one was injured and it probably took just a few hours for th fire department to put it out good job to the Reno fire department

“Harrahs Reno is the best place for me”

I've stayed here 4 times in the last 6 months and I love the location ( can't get anymore in the middle of the downtown casinos than Harrahs ) the rooms are clean, a bit dated, not the biggest nor the smallest, great employee service and like I said, the best location in Reno. 50 feet to the Calveva casino and 150 feet to the entrance to the Eldorado casino which is connected to the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. Right across the street is The little nugget casino which has the Best burger money can buy ( 6.50 for the awful awful burger with what has got to be 2 pounds of awesome fries ) Most people might like the Eldorado and Legacy much better, they are a lot more busy and have a lot of the dancing scene going on up there but, I'm a simple blue collar 40 year old dude that just likes the mellow scene in the middle of town that's close to everything. You can't beat the prices at Harrahs, I payed $60 total for a Wed. Thurs. Fri. stay. So, if you enjoy the simple life, stay at Harrahs and if you are more of a California yuppy then stay at The Eldorado or The Legacy.
