We flew to Reno NV to visit with my family,(daughter, Grandbaby) we stayed at the Harrah's. The only good thing about our room was it had a balcony. Our room had 2 full size beds and I am used to sleeping on a queen with my husband and the mattresses were not very comfortable. I ended up having a headache for our whole 4 day stay. We did not gamble very much, The casino itself needs an update to say the least it is just kind of average. I went to the spa and had a massage, the spa facility seemed nice. The Hash house a go go We ate at 3 times there food was interesting. The buffet restuarant is not open for breakfast so we did not try it. They have an Ichibans Japanese steakhouse on site We were going to eat there but my headache was too extreme on that evening. We stayed at the Harrah's once before and had a very nice room so thought we would go back . Next time We fly out to Reno NV WE will stay at a different hotel. The Joy Luck Noodle restuarant is very good in the Casino. Our view from our room was nice. I did not see much of the staff so I cannot say how they are. We had the best time we could have visiting with family I will go back to Reno Nv many times. I've stayed here 4 times in the last 6 months and I love the location ( can't get anymore in the middle of the downtown casinos than Harrahs ) the rooms are clean, a bit dated, not the biggest nor the smallest, great employee service and like I said, the best location in Reno. 50 feet to the Calveva casino and 150 feet to the entrance to the Eldorado casino which is connected to the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. Right across the street is The little nugget casino which has the Best burger money can buy ( 6.50 for the awful awful burger with what has got to be 2 pounds of awesome fries ) Most people might like the Eldorado and Legacy much better, they are a lot more busy and have a lot of the dancing scene going on up there but, I'm a simple blue collar 40 year old dude that just likes the mellow scene in the middle of town that's close to everything. You can't beat the prices at Harrahs, I payed $60 total for a Wed. Thurs. Fri. stay. So, if you enjoy the simple life, stay at Harrahs and if you are more of a California yuppy then stay at The Eldorado or The Legacy.

I've stayed here many times and it's rare that I ever have any issues. Like many hotels, it has two towers with only one featuring recently remodeled rooms. Even the older rooms are still 3* quality and the newer ones would be 4* if they were to replace the old TV's. On my last two visits, I booked the cheaper older rooms, but was upgraded at no charge to the newer rooms since the hotel was very vacant. That was just luck of course. It's only slightly more if you want to ensure that you get the nicer room.

There is NO resort fee, which I love since I rarely use the services that other hotels charge the fee for. If you must use WiFi it is $11, but my phone's wireless signal was strong enough that I didn't need it for data. Other features include a rather basic seasonal pool, in hotel Starbucks and of course a casino (which held no luck for me, surprise surprise.) If you sign up for Harrah's Total Rewards card, which can now be done online, you also get an additional discount on hotel bookings even if you don't gamble much. There are also promos on the website that you will need to sort thru, since they don't always bring up the best promo code automatically.

I'm always happy with the friendly staff and quality housekeeping here. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to save money and need/prefer to stay in downtown. Some of the further away hotels are nicer, but I don't usually find the higher rates, resort fees, and cab costs worth it. I just wish that they ran their Vegas properties like they do their Reno/Tahoe hotels. I'm still disappointed in my recent Vegas trip, but staying at Harrah's Reno has yet to let me down!

Checked in 01/20, Orbitz reservations said we could have 1 King or 2 Queens. - NOT, 2 doubles.
Only had about 18" between bed and dresser/tv.
I personally hate beds without fitted sheets (and Harrahs does not have them). When you pull down the sheets/blanket the whole bottom sheet comes out and I have to remake the bed.
Great shower and very clean room
