“NOISY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2011

The hotel was very easy to find from the directions on their website and mapquest. The price was good. The room was very clean. The only problem--the walls are paper thin!!!! The TV in the room next door kept us up until 4am. Literally, I just had to have my TV on to the same channel and I did not even have to turn on the volume on and I could hear perfectly from the neighbors TV. Then we could hear people in the same room talking by 7am. It sounded like an elephant was in the room above us. We jumped a couple of times because it sounded like the person above was going to come through our ceiling. You can hear people talking in the hallways too. If you are looking for a good nights sleep this is not the place to stay.

“Good value, new kitchenette, nice TV”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2011

I was up in Reno for a Volleyball tournament and needed a room with basic kitchen (big fridge/stove top) equipment to make team lunches. While the stove top burners weren't as big as I'd prefer, they worked perfectly, the fridge was spacious and new, and the dishes/pots/pans were in good shape. Nice that the countertops were new and granite. The room was pleasant an the bed was comfortable. The hallways could've used some paint, etc., but i wasn't staying in the hallway, so it didn't bother me ;-).

“Rip OFF!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2011

I enjoyed the stay--clean room, nice people.
But they double charged my credit card. They ripped me off. I heard several other guests complain as well.
The manager is a grumpy man who dealt poorly with customers. In the end I paid double and I am not pleased.
Wouldn't go back.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else rather than stay here!

“"I'll be back"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2011

Great price, large room, comfy bed and dog friendly too!!! Close access to freeways, casinos and restaurants. Staff was very helpful, breakfast was better than we expected!!! Exterior and landscaping needed some TLC. Bldg adjacent was run down, fences were in need of repair and picnic & dog areas too.

“Great value with very friendly staff and wonderful breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2011

I stayed at the Hawthorn Suites Reno for 3 nights in early March while on a trip photographing Reno, Donner Lake, Mt. Rose and Virginia City. The hotel was a
fantastic value with friendly staff, great breakfasts and a very convenient location.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was even a reception and social mixer on Wed. evening with free wine, beer, fruits, veggies, cheese and crackers. The free breakfast included hand-made waffles, eggs, cereal, etc. It kept me going for most of the day! My large room was very clean and had nice photos of Lake Tahoe on the walls.
The TV was a beautiful big screen and there was free DSL internet service and long distance phone calls. The hotel was convenient to the Hwy 395 freeway and the Reno Airport. It was just far enough back that I was not bothered by freeway or airport noise.
I could jump on the freeway and be at the Mt. Rose Ski Area in about 35 minutes.
The free parking was very close to the elevator and it was easy to get to my room.
I prefer this to the huge casinos where you have to park far away and walk by rows of loud slot machines. I would definitely stay at the Hawthorn Suites again on my next trip to Reno.
