“Great place in Reno.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This is a great place to stay if you're flying out of Reno or even if you're not flying out. The easy in and out is more pleasant to me than staying in one of the big casino hotels where it can take an extra 30 or more minutes just to get your car and leave. The staff were very nice and helpful and the rooms were clean and quiet. The park and stay feature is very nice. I will stay here again.

“Very Dog Friendly and good location close to airport, yet quiet”

While the hotel is in an industrial part of town, the local high school is right across the street, so not that ugly as indicated by others. The real benefit of this hotel is a true "dog area" with lots of grass, bushes, and packed sand. There are benches to sit on, and convinient dog disposal bags and cans. They even clean the area each morning to cover for the idiots that do not clean up after their dogs. Right close to the freeway with lots of restaurants and shopping just 2 exits away. The price was great (booked through LQ website to get best deal) and nothing extra for the dog.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side are closest to the dog area, but are also closest to the freeway and get the...

“TV channels do not work & manager won't get it fixed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011 via mobile

We noticed that we had Dish TV, the ABC channel will not come in & the audio on the NBC channel will not work. Our stay is over 2 wks long, we have told the mgr over a week ago & they continue to tell us that nothing can be done. I would like to relax & watch TV after a long day!!!!

“Good stay right off the freeway, near the airport”

Needes and extra day in Reno, and wanted something different then a casino. Room was clean, in a fairly quiet area. The airport didnt bother me, which was good. The parking design is a little strange compared to other LQs, but no big.
Room was clean, carpet needed a shampoo (like most hotels do). Good stay overall.

“Just Okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We decided to go to Reno on short notice over labor day weekend, and were traveling with the dog, so options were pretty limited. This La Quinta reflected that. It wasn't really bad, kind of typical older airport hotel, and as others have mentioned, pretty dated. It's in a pretty ugly area, so I wouldn't choose to stay there again for anything other than access to the airport or lack of other options. It was pretty clean, but not great - - we had a non-smoking room and when I had to retrieve something I dropped behind the nightstand, there were a couple of cigarette butts. Furniture was worn to the point that if it gets much worse it will cross the line to yucky - kind of stained and dingy looking.

Staff was nice, breakfast was ok (lobby is nice and clean) and the dog area was good. It's right by the freeway and it can be noisy.

It was a bit pricey for all the non-great aspects. I would have expected to pay about 1/2-1/3 less than we paid for what it was, but again, this may reflect the short notice holiday weekend rates. Beggars can't be choosers.

I debated about 2 vs. 3 stars - I was leaning towards 2 but again, it really isn't awful. I just wouldn't pick it again if there were other options.

Room Tip: You might ask for a room farther from the main lobby/freeway for a little lower noise level.
