I lived in this neighboorhood for 10 years so I am very familiar with this property but had never had a reason to stay here. I need to go to Reno to maintain what is now a rental property and thought I would give this hotel a try based on the price and location. I was somewhat concerned before my arrival, but the room was clean, quite and safe. I was quite surprised, I did not expect it to be as nice as it was. One thing is that there is a quiet (neighborhood) side and a noisy (freeway) side. If you are like me and travel with ear plugs neither will be a problem. I suggest asking for a room on the 7th street side. However there are no pet rooms on the quiet side.

We booked through an online site, this entitles you to lower class treatment at this hotel. Don't look under the sheets. The mattress was dirty & torn. The staff not friendly or helpful, unless you had paid directly to hotel. The noise from the freeway is very loud & everything is $20 per nite extra. Non smoking room, king bed, away from freeway, all require $20 more per night. Would not stay there again.

Room looked ok, but the outlet covers are filthy. Considering 1 is right next to the sink it could be wiped of in 2 seconds. Beds were ok & front desk person was very friendly. Highway traffic is very noisy though. Maybe a room on the other side, but they don't offer that if you have a pet.

The hotel looks kinda outdated on the outside but all the rooms have been redone at somepoint in the past. The room and bathroom were fairly clean besides finding some stray hair in the sink and shower.
The swimming pool was really nice as we were there beginning of Aug. Many loungers and space to relax and the pool itself stayed rather cool.
Like past reviews the ice machine is only on floors 1 and 3 and the reception desk is in a completely seperate building which can be annoying if you want to grab a snack or talk to reception. Also the biggest tip that helped was asking for pool side room to avoid the highway which is even slightly audible from that side.
