“Good old-school style - back to the 70's experience!”

We had a walk-in-hotel-coupon, so the night was really cheap. The room was surprisingly big and clean, the bed was good, and we had a wonderful neons-at-night-view. Just opposite -a short walk- to the big and new resorts. As recent reviews tell you, this small property is old, o.k., yes, but you can't compare the Bonanza Inn with the new casino-resorts, it's different... the Bonanza Inn has this marvellous 60's/70's charme! I just can't imagine how many gambling-stories -the good and the bad/sad ones- the walls of this property had seen and could tell. It was really a good-old-story experience. If we ever get the chance to visit Reno again (not sooo easy from Germany ;) ) would stay here again, because this property has a real history.

For 35 dollars per night you cannot go wrong with this motel. Yes, it looks outdated from the outside but the room was clean, big, the shower was wonderful and the bed very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

“This is fine for a budget.”

This place was the only in available during Labor Day weekend sometime back. The place is decent with cleanliness and acceptable amenities. The rate did not break our bank either. 2 beds for only $89-99 bucks on a weekend was more than decent compared to what the other hotels wanted. No frills , but no big deal if you do not plan to have a romantic evening or stay in the room all day. I would stay here again since it is very close to the main drag.

“Great old school motel.”

It really doesn't look like much. It's an older property, the cinderblock walls give it away as a property from the 1950's. The rooms are quite large when compared to some of the matchboxes the newer/larger "resorts" put people in.

This is a great place to stay because of its location and especially when there is a convention in town or during Hot August Nights when all of the "resorts" are billing top dollar for their rooms.

When staying here one must remember that, at one time Reno was nothing more than the biggest little city where people from the S.F. Bay Area would go to gamble and procure 195 proof grain alcohol and hookers. The tallest thing in town was the Fitzgeralds back then.

I discovered this motel many years ago because the Sundowner put me in a room that was so terrible that I immediately checked out. The Bonanza was next door, and the room was far and away better, and very reasonable. Never more than $45.

The property is low key yet within walking distance to everything. The Bonanza is a great place to make your home base when visiting Reno. It's a family run establishment that takes a very personal approach to your stay. Don't expect spa suites or any flashy extras. Remember it was built in a time when there really weren't things like that going on in Reno.

It's a great place to stay.
