The Quality Inn South is a lovely little hotel snuggled into a corner of the Reno area. Our room was clean and well appointed (nice furniture, refridgerator, television, etc.) and spotlessly clean. My only complaint (one that has been listed before) was the inability to make the room cool. The cooling system seems to be a bit 'mature' and not able to cope with modern standards. Although I'm usually cold and constantly turning down the air I found that I couldn't seem to get the room cool enough, especially in the evening. The weather was quite warm, though, which didn't help.
Parking was adequate, though only a few rooms are directly near the parking spaces. At check-in I requested one of these rooms and was cheerfully accomodated.
My husband and I appreciated the convenience of a CVS Pharmacy across the street and an Albertson's Grocery at the end of the block. We felt quite safe at the hotel and it was only a few minutes from the downtown area and freeway.
The hotel offers $3 breakfast vouchers instead of a continental breakfast and the food was quite good with very ample portions. Breakfast for my husband and I after the coupons (including coffee) was $8.
Would I stay there again, yes. Was it a bit pricey, yes. But, overall I would recommend it.
