“Don't”

Visited Primm Valley several years ago on a day outing from Las Vegas. This time we were driving from San Diego and stopped for the night at Whiskey Pete's Hotel/Casino. It was Superbowl w/e and the other hotels were full. WP's is a very tired establishment desperately needing a makeover. Compared with Vegas Casinos this was pretty grungey. I gather it closes during the week in low season. $79 a night was overkill. I spent 10 mins at the front desk getting the clerk to accept my AAA card for an $8 lower rate. Restaurant is poor. I'd never seen such a greasy Reuben sandwich in my life. No fridges in rooms and nowhere to freeze some ice packs for medication. We were glad to leave. Outlet shopping was good. Quiet. Monorail was mothballed for the winter. One redeeming find was an excellent pair of K Cole shoes for $50! Otherwise, don't stay here.

“OK stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2010

The carpets are worn, the wallpaper is in sad shape. The room was clean overall and beds comfy. Talked to many people in are group and no one had a bug problem. I would say it was better that any Motel 6. It is no 5 or even a 2 star but nice(1 maybe) , I would stay here again.

“Not worth it... Even at $29.”

You get what you pay for. Had to go across the road to a $15. Extremely mediocre buffet. Staff was mostly no existent and unfriendly. Bathroom was poor at best, assorted lights, drain cover not secure..., no tubs. They wanted another $10. for internet. The place was run like management wanted to go bankrupt.

“BED BUG INFESTATION”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

I recently stayed at Whiskey Pete's. As we were getting ready for bed, my roommate found a bug on her bed which exploded and left blood all over her sheets. After I came in to inspect it, she found another small bug on her bed. We dismissed the incident and lay down to go to sleep. I couldn't stop thinking of the bugs so I got up and surfed the internet only to confirm that they were IN FACT, BED BUGS!!!!! We immediately got up and turned on all the lights and started searching. Didn't take us long to find them all over the walls and behind the bed. I found 16 of them alone, in all different stages of their life. I am sure they were on the carpets but we couldn't see them. I called housekeeping while my friend went to the front desk with a live bed bug in a tissue to show the manager. The housekeeper came in and confirmed that it was in fact bed bugs and that we needed to transfer to a different room immediately. My friend at the front desk told the manager of our problem. He didn't even sound surprised and she asked if he wanted to see the bug she had in her hand and he declined but took the tissue with the bug still in it and threw it away. The hotel was completely understaffed and we were offered no help to transfer all of our stuff to a different room. The next day we inquired about being credited for our stay since we were infested with beg bugs and had to change rooms. At first we were told that they could not comp our accommodations of which I told them that was UNACCEPTABLE. The shift manager went back and talked to the night manager again and finally came back with the offer of them comping ONE NIGHT of our stay. Again this was unacceptable but at least we got something. We filed an incident report with Security where they took pictures of the bites that we had. After three days, my friend talked to the lady in charge of investigating the incident and she said that our claim was denied, that the room did not have any bugs. She didn't even have the right information and had no idea what room we were transferred to not did she have the correct pictures with the correct names. My friend had bites all over her legs and I had a bit on my stomach. We had already had the shift manager confirm that it was a bed bug he saw and the housekeeper also saw at least 8 of them traveling the walls of the room we were in yet now they claim that there were no bugs. UNBELIEVABLE! I would NEVER NEVER stay in this hotel or any hotel that they own since they are obviously not taking care of the so evident problem that they have with bed bugs. It only takes ONE bed bug to infest an entire house. Imagine what hundreds of them can do to a hotel in less than a week. If DENIAL is there way, STAY AWAY from this HOTEL!

“Bed bugs and terrible customer service.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

My friend and I checked into Whiskey Pete's on Friday, October 15, 2010 at about 4:30 PM. We were assigned to room #110 right near the registration desk. We were in town for the AKC dog show and Whiskey Pete's was listed as the "host hotel". We unpacked all of our belongings (as well as our 4 show dogs) and went to dinner. When we got ready for bed, I noticed a bug on the sheet of my bed - I took a tissue to remove the bug and it exploded blood on the sheet. I was disgusted, but didn't think much more about it. About 10 minutes later, I noticed another, much smaller bug on the pillow - when I removed this one, it also left a small speck of blood on the pillow. Upon further investigation, we saw about 4 more of the bugs on the wall behind the bed. We immediately called the front desk and asked that someone come to our room to examine the bugs. After a 10 minute wait, I grew impatient and took one of the bugs in a tissue to the front desk. I spoke with Seth Balaban who was the supervisor on duty. He looked at the bug and said that he would move us to another room (room #4001). At that same time, my friend had stayed back in the room and continued to find more bugs near my bed -- a total of about 20 were counted by her. A lady from housekeeping came into the room and verified the bugs to my friend and called them in on the radio to Seth while I was standing at the front desk.

We were given the key to room 4001 -- this was now about 11:45 pm and they did not offer to help us move, nor even offer a bell cart to help with the move. The next day, both my friend and I noticed a few possible bites on our legs and stomach, and since we were very dissatisfied with the way the situation was handled -- we also filed a report with their risk management department the next day -- the gentlemen from that department were very sympathetic and took photos of the bites on my legs and the bite on my friend's stomach -- they said we could call back to check on the status of the report. After several conversations with Seth, he finally agreed to not charge us for one of our night's stays...but he refused to credit us the other night.

I have since called several times to follow up on the report and was finally told today by Paula in risk management that there were no bugs in the room. This is a complete lie, as two of their employees verified the bugs that first night that we were there. I have had to purchase a new suitcase and have spent several hours washing and drying everything that I took on that trip. Needless to say, I will never be returning to that hotel again...and I would like others to know of my experience...the fact that there were bed bugs was terrible, but their lack of customer service just escalates the situation.
