“Was expecting worse...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2006

We had to stay at the Ramada for a school event and, after reading the reviews and after having a previous TERRIBLE stay at a Ramada, I was expecting far worse.

PROS:
Customer service at the check-in desk was above par. They went out of their way to assist with checking us in to 16 rooms and made it really easy and fast.

The rooms were clean (and I'm picky).

CONS:
Very loud hotel. There were guests with dogs (2 pitbulls) staying next to us and they barked on and off through the night and were very active. You could hear complete conversations out in the hall and in the next room. Forget about sleeping here without a sound machine--luckily we had ours.

Not a nice neighborhood. Lots of "locals" roaming the parking lot, but we didn't have any problems. Put your valuables out of sight, park under a light towards the front of the parking lot, and lock the car up tight. It felt safe enough inside, but then we never even entered the casino or restaraunt.

I've stayed in worse, but wouldn't stay here again if I had a choice.

The room smelled bad, and the hotel has extremely thin/non-noise resistant walls. It was he worst hotel I've ever stayed at. VERY LOUD!

my girl friend and I stopped there for one night, I thought the hotel was clean and we received great service there however for the same price you can stay on the strip at a much nicer hotel,

The hotel was a 2 star hotel but was much nicer than that, we really enjoyed it and would stay there again

“Awful experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2005

My husband and I stayed at the Speedway Casino for one night while briefly visiting the area. We received a nice little surprise that we definitely weren't expecting. When taking our bags out to the car the next morning, we found our car had been broken into. It was in plain sight of the surveillance camera and under many lights--directly in front of the hotel! The security guards were clueless when it came to helping us, and one of them didn't even speak English. The Security manager kept telling us that he "didn't have access to the surveillance camera" and that he would "let us know as soon as he was able to look at the tapes." He never called us and when we finally called him, he told us that there was no coverage of the incident and he couldn't be of any help to us. The people at the front desk were completely aware of our situation and didn't do anything to try to make things better like giving us a discount or refund on the room. The only thing they did was clean out all of the glass that was covering the inside of our car from the broken window with their dirty brooms they were sweeping the street trash with. On top of the incident with our car, we found a pubic hair wrapped in one of our bath towels. The one good thing about the hotel was the food at the cafe for the little price we paid. Just a warning of some of the possibilities that may come your way when staying at this hotel.
