We had a great view from our cabin, the stars from the balcony at night were amazing! The fireplace and jet tub were great additions to the comfy cozy feel of the cabin room. Everyone we came into contact with, the receptionist and the waiters and waitresses were so polite and friendly. We had hot chocolate at the resturant a couple times and drove to a snow play area that was easily marked on the map. We had a great time and will for sure return for another vacation!

The lady at check in was awesome, very friendly, and even loaned us a bottle opener cause we forgot ours, at no charge! Cabin was fantastic! We got the love birds cabin, and it was all to be expected, right down to the other couples who had been there before having carved names in the deck. I will recommended and return!

Mount Charleston Lodge is on top of the mountain, about 35 minutes out of Las Vegas. Don't confuse it with the Mount Charleston Resort, which you pass on the way up. I rather think some of the other reviews have in fact mixed up the two places.
The Lodge is rustic-looking log cabins, not a hotel. Each cabin has a jacuzzi tub, a gas fireplace, and lots of area heaters. There's a flat screen tv - but no tv reception - only DVD capability. The office has a huge DVD collection (rental $1). There's no wifi (but there is phone reception). If you want to fall off the grid for a day or so, this is the place.
The view from the back deck was fabulous. The cabin was roomy, but cosy and comfort. There are all levels of hiking trails nearby. Temperatures are about 25 colder than in Las Vegas. Our 2nd night, the wind howled all night - very romantic.
The restaurant is open at 8 for breakfast - way too late for us early birds but there is a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. In general, don't expect gourmet - but the chili was yummy and the pizza not half bad. The sandwiches were good, too.
When the pressures of work get to use, we'll definitely make another visit...off the grid.

Three of us stopped at the lodge today. After waiting to be seated even though the restaurant was just about empty, we were seated right where a server had just dropped a bottle of vinegar. So, we asked to be seated elsewhere. Once seated we order our drinks and asked the server about ordering food. She said another server would be right with us. We waited about 15 minutes, all the while watching employees hanging around with each other talking and waiting on no one. Finally, a male server came to us and asked us if we wanted anything. We told him our issues and said we wouldn't be ordering. I asked how much was the bill and he said there was no bill because of our complaints. That was nice of him but waiting so long to take our order really displays poor management. I don't recommend this place at all. You would be better off taking some sandwiches with you when you visit the mountains. It's evident that that Mt Charleston Lodge really doesn't want your business.
