The hotel was pretty cozy, we were there during the Talentquest Competition which is in September so it was pretty interesting to see different acts perform. There are going to be a lot of teenagers there around that time. I liked that the hotel was conveniently located near many things. There is a mall down the street and a wal-mart not even 5 miles away. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, there were a few things i wasn't quite happy about but the staff is very accommodating.

If you are a fan of frozen yogurt you HAVE TO TRY the frozen yogurt at the cafe on the first floor.

We have been going to the Tropicana in Laughlin for 9 years and it's always been a pleasant experience that we look forward to. We are card members and have always been comped our stay. This year was a big disappointment all around. We realize that the rooms are inexpensive but with all of the gambling we pay quite a bit.
We were not comped this year but had to pay for our rooms. Also, we were told we'd have to pay an additional $20 a night to have a room above the casino instead of in the back building. Once there, we noticed that no one ever really cleaned our room. They put some fresh towels in the bathroom so they were obviously there, but never touched the bed. When we tried to complain the night shift didn't have an explanation. We went to the VIP section thinking at least they would be sympathetic after two days of no service but there was no appology, no comps, not anything. Finally on the third day they actually made the bed. Gross.
The casino is fun and we enjoyed playing but they are lazy with the property upkeep. Our room had a view of the pool and one of the VIP cabanas were ripped and collapsed with no effort to fix it. The Itallian restaurant has a great deal with the endless pasta bowl. Decent food and salad bar at a good price and the $7.00 carafe of wine was huge! The sit down train themed restaurant was very overpriced and not worth the money. We were so disgruntled that we spent more time at other casinos and have already recieved offeres of free rooms the next time we come down. We will stay someplace else next time. Too bad - we really used to look forward to this hotel but their complete disregard for loyal return visitors has sent us elsewhere

I get 3 free nights every year at this hotel. Otherwise the rates are very low. I stay in the tower and always ask for a room facing the mountains. I stayed on the 18th floor this time. The room is very comfortable, with decent tv channel selection. No wifi, and it costs $10/day if you want internet. Wifi is free 2 blocks away at the Outlet Mall. I found the slot machines to be good. (I won this time, but not always)

We have stayed at the Tropicana once or twice a year for the past several years, but I think this trip (Dec. 19-21,2011) will be the last.

In November, after checking on-line for prices, I called the Tropicana and made reservations even though the price was higher by a couple of dollars then several other hotels in Laughlin.
When we checked in I was told the room would be $19.95 per night, a good price, but not the price I had been given when I made the reservation. I thought I had been quoted $17.00, but the clerk said "we never do $17.00". There is a chance I could of misheard 17 for 19, but the price I was quoted was in even dollars, no change. Today,(12/22/11) on-line, I saw rooms at the Tropicana for $17.00.

Because of a physical disability a handicapped room was requested. I suppose the room we paid for (318) qualified, it was close to the elevator, the toilet qualified and there were handrails. The shower controls could not be reached from the shower seat and the shower floor was so slippery that when I stood up to adjust the temperature I almost fell. I ended up putting a hand towel I could reach, on the shower floor, so I could stand up.

The bed was so low to the floor it was below my knees when I stood beside it and it definitly was not one of your 'PILLOW TOPS". Needless to say it was not easy to get in or out of this bed even with the help of a cane. Not exactly handicap friendly.

After this experience I will have to think long and hard before I stay at the Tropicana again.
