“Nice place, nice stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed here Saturday night thru Tues. night. we were on the 12th floor of the adult tower and had a riverview room. It was quiet all four nights had no issue at all with noise. The rooms could use some updating, especially the bathroom, but it was clean. Housekeeping did a good job each day keeping our room clean. Friendly housekeeping staff. Slots weren't as good to us as the last time we were in Laughlin, but didn't do too bad either.

Room Tip: if an upgraded room is available when you check in, you will get a lot better room for little money.

“Great Value/ Nice casino”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

we had a room in the adult tower - river view on a Tues night - for $42 with a players club card. The view was beautiful - bed comfy - room overall average. The bathrooms are a little tired. But overall, fun place to stay. Did not win much - but very nice dealers. Ate at the restaurant on the river for breakfast. Good food - nice service. Very reasonable.

Room Tip: I would pay a little extra for the view. Very pretty at night.

“Not Impressed.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We booked the Aquarius Resort in Laughlin for 2 nights in mid January for my mothers birthday. I was hesitant, I usually prefer The Tropicana Express, Edgewater, or Harrah's. However, we stayed at this property years ago when it was The Flamingo Hilton. I was much nicer then.

I booked online and chose the Panoramic view room. I was offered an upgrade for a reduced price upon check in. I accepted it. When we arrived, I was not impressed with the unfriendly check in clerk. No smile (a must in customer service), she told me my upgrade to a river view was available (I did sign for it), I asked what was the difference in the price for river view and panoramic, she said this room was "updated". I am used to 4 star properties, so I was happy with that.

A very nice bellman escorted us up to the 15th floor in the Arizona tower. Upon exiting the elevator, I noticed the worn carpet, the walls had black scuff marks on them...like they needed a good scrub. Not a good impression.

I got to the window to check out this "river view", and 95% of it was a parking lot. I called the front desk immediately. We were then moved to the 18th floor and WERE TOLD WE WOULD NOT BE CHARGED FOR AN UPGRADE. Well, the view was no better. However, the room was a little nicer. There was not a safe in our room and there was no fan in the bathroom. These are standard amenities usually found in all 3 star properties.

Our stay was nice otherwise. The restaurants were good, and the gift shop was nice. Although, security followed my mother and I into the gift shop (very strange, that has NEVER HAPPENED TO US IN LAUGHLIN BEFORE), and we were watched as we shopped.

Upon an early checkout on January 16, 2012 about 5 AM, I was again NOT IMPRESSED with the desk clerk. I got my bill, only to notice that I had been charged for the UPGRADED view of the parking lot. When I explained what had happened to the clerk, I was accused of lying. She said that there were not any new clerks on staff, and since I did not have a name; she was unsure of my story. However, she did refund my card. I did not appreciate that--AT ALL!

The valet brought our van around right away. He handed me the key and watched as me, my sister, and mother put our OWN BAGS in the van. Isn't that their job?

I will NEVER stay at the Aquarius again. I understand that it is a 3 star property. However, their service does not even meet that level of rating.

Room Tip: Do not pay for an upgraded room...They are all the same.

“The only place to stay in Laughlin”

We have stayed here many times and we will be back again soon. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The staff is friendly and the casino is a lot of fun. My wife and I got married in Lauglin in 2009 and we out the entire wedding party and guests in this hotel. We go back every year and have a blast.

“In a word: "Ugh!"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I travel to the Colorado River area frequently for business, and often stay in the Casinos of Laughlin to take advantage of the great mid-week prices. I've often driven past the Aquarius en route to some other casino or another, but confess that I was taken in by the sparkle and look of newness (especially as compared with some of the hotels, which I know have been there for YEARS), and decided to try a night there on my most recent trip. I wish I hadn't.

The staff is friendly enough, the casino, is typical, cleaning personnel are visible and busy keeping the casino refreshed, the elevator doors polished (I actually saw people cleaning the elevator doors twice in less than 4 hours. BUT:

My room, an upgrade to a river view, had four major things wrong with it that will keep me from ever returning to the Aquarius:

1) The advertising spotlights shown in the window all night. Even with the draperies closed, it was like having a nightlight on. This is wintertime. It's cold out. There's no-one on the river. Really - was this necessary?

2) The toilet did not work. OK, this can happen anywhere, things do break down. And if this had been all, I'd have been fine and would give them another chance

3) There were NO towels at all in the room. Not a washcloth - nothing. Which made me begin to wonder just how attentive their housekeeping in the rooms is. It didn't take me long to find out because

4) There was a g-string in the room, on the floor, next to the luggage stand. No, it wasn't mine. Yuck.

So there you have it - 4 "wrongs" lead me back to square one, which is that with all of the options available along the Colorado River in Laughlin, I don't need to return to the Aquarius. And I advise you to look elsewhere, too.
