I went to the Avi for the first time this month. I have stayed in almost all of Laughlin's casino hotels. This was a wonderful experience for me. When we first arrived, they checked us in very quickly. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The casino was quite big with wonderful drink service. The drinks were good and of high quality. The Italian restaurant was delicious (try the pesto pasta). I throughly enjoyed myself.

Good basic hotel, large room, good beds (recently replaced), flat screen tv. Room was suprisingly smoke free, considering smoking is allowed in the hotel and casino. Rooms are being upgraded, make sure to ask for an updated room. With your Players card, you can have a full breakfast for 99 cents. Lots of free parking. Several good restaurants in the resort.

I come out here every spring with my girlfriends. Please, read the reviews of the whiners, and do not come out!!!Kinda kidding. But really, this place is SUCH a bargain, we are better off without the people who expect to be treated like they are in Vegas at $500 a night. Let em leave!

My only gripe:

When I was last there, May 2011, the pool was clearly divided in half by a rope and visible signs, kids side and "no kids" side. Their side had all the toys, Adult side had books, magazines, cocktails. We did not need screaming and cannonballs all over our belongings, and we were not bothering them in their space. We asked a few kids to honor the sign, of course they complied. Soon after, though, we had the parents ( who were in the jacuzzi and not with their own children) screaming at us they had no right to talk to their children at all. This went on and on escalating while we were treated to their uncivilized language. Funny thing, the kids were willing to follow rules when asked. Parents...could learn from their kids! We did ask security repeatedly to enforce their own rules, and not leave it on our shoulders. They just hemmed and hawed, would NOT do a THING. Alert----adults are paying, kids are not!!!!!!!!

Good place to stay if you're boating on the river or Lake Mohave. I prefer it to the Laughlin hotels. Plenty of boat parking and river access. There are also restaurants and a movie theatre so that's pretty nice. The only drawback is you get the cheap gaming crowd and the casino smells really bad - way too many smokers and not good enough ventilation in my opinion. That's what you expect in casinos though. Overall, good place to stay when youre playing on the water.
