“Nice Hotel, but...”

Traveled to Vegas specifically to see Cirque Du Soleil's "Love" so decided to stay at the Mirage, which is the home of the show. Got a good package deal through Southwest airlines (http://www.southwestvacations.com/Destinations/Destination.aspx?dest=LAS) that proved to be cheaper than purchasing the room and airline seperately.

The hotel itself is quite nice. The room was large, well appointed, and surprisingly quiet. I particularly liked that the non-smoking rooms had their own separate elevator that only serviced the non-smoking floors. It helped to keep the halls and rooms smoke free. Unfortunately, the only way to get to the non-smoking elevator was through the smoky casino - but I suspect that is true of nearly every casino hotel in Vegas.

My only real quibble with the Mirage was the housekeeping. When we checked in, there was a half eaten piece of candy under the nightstand and beard hairs on the rim of the sink and they were still there when we checked out three days later. Bath towels were badly stained. Room service dishes sat outside of doors for days. Little things perhaps, but together they show an overall lack of care in the housekeeping. I would expect better from any hotel - but it is particularly inexcusable for an upscale hotel like this.

Thank you for your visit to The Mirage! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed our Cirque du Soleil show LOVE and that you appreciated our efforts to accommodate a smoke free environment. On behalf of The Mirage, please accept my apologies for the absence of attention to detail from our Housekeeping department. We value your feedback and this will be addressed by our management team. We hope to welcome you back soon.

“My second stay at The Mirage!”

Yes, trying to pick a place to stay in Vegas can be somewhat daunting, it is a 'city of hotels' after all, but I stayed at The Mirage 3 years ago for a 'girls weekend', so when I was going back with my husband, I figured for the price & location, The Mirage was still the place to stay.
I was again pleased with the service, the atmosphere, and I do really like the location. It's close to Ceasar's and the Forum shops and the rest of the 'The Strip' is right outside your door. The rooms are very nice, always very quiet. Again, most days we were up & out of our room so early, and often not back until later intot he evening, but even 3 years later, it's still a great place to stay!! Check-in went off without a hitch. Upon the check out the nice woman at the hotel (Mayra) offered to check us into our flight and printed our boarding passes (not a time saver in the end thanks to Westjet, but that's another review....). In all a great weekend getaway!! I'd still go back to that hotel again!

“Solid Choice, Good Location”

Not a whole lot going on inside the hotel, but a very good location for venturing out. Expect to be entertained outside as opposed to inside. Service and aesthetics were excellent though.

“A better hotel experience in Las Vega”

We found the the Mirage to be a very busy place. Checking in at 11:00 AM involved standing in line for 20 minutes. The rooms are nice - we had a decent size room on the 25th floor of the tower and no complaints. There is the fact that nowhere on the strip do they ahve a coffee maker in the room So, you have trek to a Starbucks or similar to pay $3.75 for a cup to start your day. Our bathroom was deluxe with a jetted tub and separate shower and two sinks. The Mirage has some good restaurants and we enjoyed many of them. BB Kings Blues Club had the best breakfast on the strip. I am amazed they still allow smoking in the casino.

All in all, a better hotel with good amenities.

Room Tip: Higher is better

The hotel is good enough: good location, standard room, smokey but nice enough casino. Our problem was that, when we got home, we discovered that someone had stolen my husband's iPad when we checked our luggage with the bellman. For a hotel that proports to "pamper" you, and with no posted sign at the bellman's station warning you not to check valuables, we expected better. Maybe we were just dumb tourists, but we have checked luggage in Canada, New York City, LA, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima, and never had a thing stolen. We have yet to hear from the hotel, despite numerous letters. My suggestion? Stay at Caesars Palace!
