“Location Great/ Resort Fee a Joke”

The guestrooms were nice and oversized and you can tell they were redone recently. Booked room on priceline and got it for 90.00 so value was good.

Location was great to other sites on the strip, had event in New York NY which was walkable, MGM was next door along with Excalliber and Lexor. would stay again due to price and location.

Casino and BAR staff were serving a OLDER market. most of the casino servers were 55+ felt it attracted a lot of old patroons. Guestrooms were a hike from the lobby. The desk staff was non friendly and lack hospitality I was a number, next please.

Resort fee of $15.00 per day is a total rip off. They give you a print out of all the stuff you get, Free Faxes, Free local calls, free bording pass, use of excerise room. if your there on leisure, 90% are you uses NOTHING. Who calls from a hotel phone when everyone has a cell. Faxing really so 90s , Free parking a plus, but the Resort Fee left BIG bad taste in my mouth.

This hotel was ranked low on this site, I think it is misleading.

Room service was a rip, ordered a Hamburger and a phil sandwich, 2 cokes total was 58.00

“Vegas getaway”

My wife and I stayed at the Tropicana in Las Vegas when we were attending a convention in early February. We were pleased with the cost of the room and it's appointments, although I did recommend to them to have a coffee maker in the room. Comfortable, well decorated rooms and comfortable bedding. The courtyard was very nice with it's nice lawn and palm trees. The pool was closed when we were there, but I did enjoy a few cigars in the courtyard while enjoying the mid - 60's temperatures. The gym/fitness center was well appointed, too. We ate at Bacio's two evenings in a row. The food was excellent, try the fixed price menu for $33.00 including a glass of wine. All of the hotel and Bacio staff were very friendly and we'll stay here on our next Vegas getaway. Be aware, though, that there is smoking in the casino portion of the hotel if that is bothersome.

Room Tip: Go for the tower rooms and get a king size bed.

“Absolutely Fabulous time at the Tropicana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We just got back from a girls' weekend at the Tropicana. We didn't know what to expect, as we've only stayed in the MGM Grand, Luxor, and the Bellagio, but we absolutely loved it. In the five years since we've been to Vegas, the Tropicana is truly unrecognizable. It was open, airy, had an upscale tropical feel to it, and was FABULOUS.
We had a late check-in (about midnight) and had no wait at all. We were taken care of by the super friendly ladies in front, and were given room 724 in the Paradise Tower. The elevators were close by, and we were immediately put into party mode as we heard the band jamming and saw the cocktail waitress pole dancing in the middle of the gaming tables. :)
Our room was huge by Vegas standards and had two queen beds. The furniture was very nice, and the plantation shutters gave us an AMAZING view of the strip. Out of our window, we could see the Luxor, Excalibur, and Mandalay Bay.
Most importantly, we were pretty damn lucky in the casino downstairs. We took advantage of their "free play" rewards, and got back $150 to play in casino money. We had a couple of $400 wins as well (this was playing penny slots).
We also had the opportunity to eat in the Beach Club for breakfast and we all loved it. Again, the upscale tropical feel was echoed throughout the restaurant. We also ate in the food court, and were pleasantly surprised by the food there as well.
Lastly, the pool area is BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait to go back when it's open to try out the water slide. HIGH OH!
I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Vegas on a budget, as the rooms are absolutely STUNNING for the price. Flying on Allegiant, for three people, with three nights in the hotel only ran us about $1000. UNREAL! Can't wait to go back. As they say in Hangover... VEGASSSSS! VEGASSSSSSSSSSSS!

Room Tip: I would recommend even numbered rooms in the Paradise Tower for an amazing view of the Strip.

“Super Bowl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

My Wife and I had a fantastic time here during the Super Bowl Weekend. The our room, the casino looked great. They gave us a really nice gift basket, Super Bowl Jerseys, caps and we got to meet some St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders. The 50YD Line Super Bowl Party was more than we expected, the service, the food and drinks was just great. We used to go to Reno for Super Bowl and other weekend trips, but not anymore we're coming here!!

“Tropicana 02/2012”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

A trip for 2 to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The new Trop has a light, airy feel. It smells wonderful, like Hawaiin Tropics suntan lotion. The staff was excellent and the property clean, updated and welcoming. The restaurant options aren't so great, both are quite expensive but the on property Starbucks is a plus. If you stay in the Club Tower, it is a LONG walk to the parking lot. The Club Tower rooms are large, the bed very comfortable and the soaking tub very nice.

Room Tip: City View rooms are more convenient to the Casino and Strip.
