“Not Very Happy”

I have stayed at the Tropicana every visit to Vegas for over 15 years. So I know what it was and I know what it has become. First of all; I gamble; a lot! I play mostly craps. I HATE the long tables you installed a couple years ago! Tha dice bounce off the Damn thing at least 20% of the throws! The game takes longer and it really slows the game. Sometimes I play all night and will rest/sleep some during the day. Those STUPID Venitian blid type window covers you have are horrable! They do NOT darken the room so daytime naps are inpossible! If you want to open them to get a view they stick out away from the wall and are in the way. Put back the ceiling to floor dark curtins! For years we loved the Garden Cafe and all the employees. Now, the food is worse, that music makes me sick, and the service is atrocious! We srood by the hostess desk for 20 minutes waiting to be seated, (usually no big deal-I don't mind waiting my turn) finally when a hostess took us in to be seated there were only Two other couples in the entire resturant! I asked WHY I had to wait standing outside when I could have been seated immediatly and waited in comfort? I was told I had to wait for a hostess to seat me. I was so pissed I left and ate at Sherwood Forest at the Excaliber. Reinstall the regular crap tables, fix the curtins, and get some help in the food service locations that are fluent in english! I would love ot come back. But for the time being I am trying out other casinos on the strip. I still stop By the Tropicana to say hello to all my friends there, from Jake the dooman to Marta our maid, and all the dealers and pit bosses who know me and my wife by name. I do miss my friends at the Tropicana!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Stayed one night and wished we had booked our hole stay! They did a fabulous job renovating, the rooms are spacious, clean. The bathroom needs a little reno still, they have made a few changes like the sink and lighting but the tub and ceramic are still the same. The bed is very comfortable, slept like a baby!. Their is no drapes in the windows, the windows are covered with wooden chutter's..their is a little light that comes through, for me it was not a problem. Not a sound from next rooms or hallway! Loved that :) Front desk went super well, the clerk was very polite, eager to please :)
The walk from the front desk to the room is a little hike..but any hotel in Vegas you always walk, I did not see any problem with that. Its a lovely hotel, very new orleans feel.
I would be back in a heart beat! loved this hotel :) They did a great job keeping up wih the other top Hotels on the strip.
Congrats! Keep up the good work :)
See you soon for sure

Tropicana was ok to stay at, it was value for money and the rooms were really nice. However, I did not like having to walk through the smokey casino to get to the rooms. The restaurant was nice, but the people working at the front desk were impatient. When we asked the concierge to help us, he sent us in the wrong direction. Next time I will pay a bit more money and stay some where else.

Room Tip: To get a good view, pay a bit more for a view of "The strip"

“Clean and Quiet on the Strip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I travel to Las Vegas for business and have stayed at a variety of hotels and apartment rentals trying to find a perfect match. It was either too far or too loud or too smokey. The trop is great. The remodel was beautiful. It is a relatively peaceful casino. It is not a big party hotel. Everything is light and bright and it has beautiful grounds that are very excessible so you have access to the outdoors more easily. The pool was large and sprawling. There is a 24 hour starbucks, a couple of expensive but delicious restaurants and a well priced one with good food Breakfast through dinner. It is on the strip but at near the end so it is not too crowded but you have access to everything. The most important thing is the beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. This will be my go to place from now on.

“Awesome Stay”

We were totally pleased with this hotel! We were impressed with every worker we encountered - they all seemed "happy and upbeat". It began when Jack (valet?) welcomed us; then Linda, who was so friendly at checkin - we felt right at home and realize that this doesn't always happen in large hotels. This high standard continued the entire time. We upgraded to the Paradise Tower, thus when we came "home" we were convenient to the elevator. Our room faced the aiport and mountains - that was a lovely breather from the hectic Strip scene. The hotel was bright and immaculate. We liked that we were close to shops in which we could purchase light snacks, beer and wine, and a nearby Food Court was also handy. The bus easily takes you to the other hotels ($7 for 24-hours). If you drive, use the valet service at the hotels - great deal, just the cost of a tip. We had the breakfast buffet (excellent) and also purchased fresh fruit (by weight) at a little stand near Starbuck's. The pool area is lovely - great for relaxing, even if the pool is closed; check the hot tub - it should be operating. We had a wonderful stay at the Tropicana and we highly recommend it.
