As with all things in Vegas, New York New York was an escape to one of my most favourite cities in the world; and lived up to it too.
The staff were efficient and helpful. Check-in was fuss free.
I stayed in the Century Tower, where the most basic rooms are, I believe. Because of the structure of the hotel, it's a long winding walk to your room. You could try requesting for a room near the lift if you hate walking after a long day of sightseeing and shopping.
As with most hotels in Vegas, the ground floor had a casino. There's never a dull moment on the floor. Plus, the streets made to look like real New York City added a really fun touch to the hotel. There's always something to do, eat, go to a piano bar, watch a Cirque show, play some slots and of course, take the rollercoaster.
If you are looking for a great night view of Vegas and are game for some action, take the rollercoaster! Remember to take the hotel coupon booklet which gives you half off your 2nd ride on the rollercoaster, along with other great deals.
Room-wise, it was spacious with the most comfortable bed I've slept in ever. I believe the Century Tower is newly renovated. The air-con is a little erratic/extreme though. I believe it operates according to motion sensors so it turns off automatically if it doesn't sense any movement in the room. Just set the temperature a little colder before you sleep so you don't wake up perspiring.
All in all, great fun hotel on the quieter side of the strip. But with the 24hr shuttle bus a 5 minute walk away, it doesn't really matter. (:
