“Worried about some reviews, but upgraded room was great!”

I had read the negative reviews extensively, and even spoke about them with the female LVH reservation agent. I speculated she was talking about the regular rooms when she strongly recommended the $10 per night upgrade to a "Premium" room. I did the upgrade. So when I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at the room! Very spacious, newer carpeting and bedding, newer tile in the bathroom, and well appointed. My view was of the nearby Las Vegas Country Club golf course. I'm guessing I would not have liked the regular room, and further guessing that the negative TripAdvisor reviews and some pictures are of the regular rooms. The hotel has gone green, and they offer you a $10 resort voucher every night you decline housekeeping service. All you have to do is press the green button on the room phone before 1A, and they'll leave the voucher under your door the next day. Since I traveled alone this trip, I had plenty of towels to use for my 4 nights, and I only messed up one bed. So I was willing to get $10 a night (not valid your first or last day) to take 3 minutes to make my own bed and straighten my room each morning before I went out for the day. They actually left me more towels one morning anyway. Not sure if this was a mistake or if you can "go Green" and still order more towels. Also, the hotel is away from the Strip, so at the end of each day, it was nice to go to a nice quiet, clean property. If you're a party animal from L.A. looking for the newest UltraLounge, the LVH is not for you!

“No wonder Hilton ditched this property”

Checked in late on Friday night, was put in a room with a king size bed in the central tower. Room was very large and spacious however there were over a dozen hairs all over the bathroom floor. Absolutely disgusting. Even after we requesting housekeeping (the housekeeper was very, very nice) to clean the floor there were still hairs all over the place. I would re-name this hotel Pubey Lewis not the LVH. Additionally, after the first night we awoke to find an old looking blood stain on the sheets towards the foot of the bed- that was not left by us.
And what is up with the empty "night club" with only 2 people on a Saturday night and a ridiculous dress code? No tennis shoes. Does this place honestly think it is on the level of Tao, Bank, Tryst or Rain?? Not even close. If they were I would understand the dress code, but come on all we wanted was to grab a beer on the way upstairs..
I have stayed at the Mandalay Bay, NYNY, MGM and Aria- and all of those places blow this place out of the water. I guess you get what you pay for. I wouldn't have such a poor review if the hotel was clean, alas it was not.

Room Tip: Maybe pay the fee to upgrade to the newly re-modeled rooms

“Off Strip Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The LVH was an average older hotel. Was it a 4 star hotel? No, more of a low 3 star hotel. Location is off of the strip however having the monorail station stop at the hotel was a plus. The rooms are in need of some TLC however nothing was too bad when considering the rate that we paid for the room. If this hotel does not recieve the make-over it needs I can see it eventually being demolished in order to compete with the new Las Vegas ultra-modern resorts.

Room Tip: It staying multiple days and will be using monorail, go online to purchase monorail tickets in advan...

“Good Value - Best Sportsbook”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The Las Vegas Hilton has undergone some renovation and a name change. It's now the LVH and the rooms are a bit nicer than before. It's no Wynn or Bellagio but for a value hotel in Vegas it works quite well. The number 1 asset of this property is the huge Sportsbook and all the unique wagers they accept. If you are going to Vegas to gamble on Sports - you've found the spot. For Poker, Blackjack & Craps - there are much better venues.

Room Tip: If you don't want to walk alot ask for a room closer to where you want to spend your time. Sever...

“Nothing wrong with the LVH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I was very hesitant to stay at the LVH with reading the reviews. We had a chiropractic conference at the conference centre and decided to stay at the LVH since it's adjoining. We didn't really have any issues except a few minor glitches.

First off, the hotel is older and off the strip, but that's mostly it. The monorail station is right in front and you can get a three day pass for $28 which is well worth it and takes no time to get to the bottom of the strip. It's not as glamorous as some of the hotels, but who cares, it's nice overall. I was concerned about the rooms. We requested an upgrade at booking and they told us they can put the request on the file but it will depend on availability, but to come between 12 and 3 and shouldn't be any issue getting into the renovated rooms. Well, not quite. Long story short they upgraded my room and my staff stayed in two 'regular' rooms, 624 and 627. Otherwise they wanted $20 per room per night to upgrade. Elected not to do so, wasn't told about the fee on the phone. In any case, I checked the regular rooms after checking in and there was nothing wrong with them, they were all nice. Our renovated room did not look much different, maybe a bit better bathroom, but that was it.

Staff was friendly, limited eating on site, but again, if you have a monorail pass, you're fine.

Once again, this hotel was perfectly fine, the service was great, we had a good time!

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room, see what you can get for a free upgrade.
