“Nice room - great location - no hassle”

I stayed at the Jockey Club during CES week. I was treated very politely at check-in. For my six night stay, I was not approached once about timeshare opportunities. Maybe because I was alone? I stayed in room 384. I could see the Paris hotel to the right out the window, but the vista was mostly only the Bellagio parking structure. The room was almost directly above the West entrance to Jockey Club and only 100 ft away from the bus/taxi area for Cosmopolitan. Very convenient! Didn't hear much noise, but there are lots of vehicles that travel below outside the room. This room has a small kitchen which allowed for making my own breakfasts each morning. Every utensil and appliance I could possibly need were available. The bus stop on LV Blvd allows for taking the Deuce (early) or Express down to a stop right in front of Whole Foods at Town Square for groceries. Needed to use the Mini Market next to the hotel reception a couple times, but avoided as much as possible due to cost. Some renovation evidence in the walk between the towers as the carpet was covered with plastic protection film. Was able to use the hotel computers near reception to print off my boarding pass at no charge. I would like to stay here again and try for a fountain view room, but it's not necessary since the hotel location itself is more important to me. See my photos for more details.

“only adequate - beware the time share sellers”

The Jockey club is located right in the heart of the strip next to the Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan Casino and across from the Miracle Mile of shops and two theaters which are a part of the Planet Hollywood complex. The best way to get there is to go outside the airport and buy a round trip shuttle ticket for $12 and call them a day ahead to go back. Our exchange condo was furnished to a factory minimum with Home Depot cabinets and inexpensive furnishings. There was no dish drainer, no frying pan and no e-z chairs but my wife and I made do. The place is noisy due to thin walls and the dishwasher sounded like it was on the airstrip getting ready to take off. At check in, the clerk will hand you a ticket for a $1000 Visa giveaway that you are to give to the "concierge" across from the main desk. Do not, unless you don't value your time, fall for this as we did. The odds, first of all , are astronomical and the premise is deceiving because it is all a ruse to go to a timeshare presentation. Our 90 minute presentation lasted 3 hours and they went from $27000 down to $3999 at the end. They do give you "free" shows (Warning: Absolutely nothing is free in Vegas!) but you can get these anywhere on the strip. If you are a member of RCI, they are promoting properties that are already there so you don't need them. The employees are very cordial and wiling to help in any way. We will not go back because the city, itself, is seedy with a plethora of bottom feeders wanting to separate you from your money (you can get a free drink inside any casino so what's the point?).

“Great location, desperate need of renovation”

The jockey club is a timeshare, however, rooms are available to rent on a nightly basis. I rented mine through the Las Vegas tourist bureau which offered a good rate. The location is awesome, right across the street from Planet Hollywood and Miracle Mile shops which has numerous retail shops, restaurants and several show theatres. Next door is the Bellagio which has the fountains that shoot off at various times, really neat to see. You will really not need a car if you stay here. The rooms are rather dark, dated but very clean. The small bathroom doesn't accomodate more than 1 person, however, has nice bathtowels which was a surprise. Bed was comfy. The kitchen is small. If there had been 4 people staying in the room it would have been tight. Old velvety sofa turns into a bed which i was happy I wasnt sleeping on. Rooms were rather noisy, could hear people coming & going in neighboring rooms. They have a nice little convenience store on site. Check-in and check-out was friendly and efficient. To enter the hotel you have to go down a service alley which feels a little uncomfortable. I was glad I wasn't staying out late and walking down there by myself late at night. There is a way to get to the strip through the Cosmopolitan, however, you then have to walk through a parking garage which isn't much better. I am a timeshare lover because I like having the kitchen ameneties, however, probably would look at other possibilities first. If you have a nice timeshare that you are exchanging for this property you will be disappointed.

Room Tip: There are two towers. If you want to be closer to getting to the strip by way of the cosmopolitan...

“Awesome location right on the strip for less”

We are an Australian family of three adults and two children who travelled to Las Vegas in November 2011 and stayed 7 nights in a two bedroom suite at The Jockey Club.....We loved it!!! you could not beat the location, right beside the Cosmopolitan (there is a lift right into the Cosmopolitan and access to the pool) opposite Planet Hollywood, beside the Bellagio. Right out the front is the bus stop. The rooms were huge and lovely. Very Clean. The sofa was a fold out bed and then two very big bedrooms with nice big comfortable beds. Fully recomend this especially for the price under $1000 for the week. We never had a problem with time share, someone started to ask and we said we were not interested so they walked away

Room Tip: We booked off the www.vbro.com site

“Racist experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

These guys were selling time shares and someone on the street asked us if we were married and lived in the US. also, we were offered free tickets to one of the shows in Vegas if toured the property with no pressure to purchase. So far so good. We agreed to tour (which was 90 minutes) and toured the facility with one of their agents. Towards the end of the tour, she discussed pricing of the time share etc. and then another guy ( probably one of the managers) came along and tried to convince us to purchase the property. Its no surprise that they would try to push us to buy the time share and attempt to convince us which is perfectly fine. But when we said we needed time to think about it, he said..' What do you have to think about, Why do you have to talk to your family etc.' I told him I did not feel comfortable making that decision at that time. He started with racist remarks such as ' Oh you people have to discuss everything with your family and have no individuality'. I politely declined and after about 1/2 hour of this pressure, he finally let go. We were later asked by another manager who was reviewing if our visit and tour went well. We told him about our bad experience and he wrote everything down. We were writing down a formal complaint as per his advice and he handed over our case to another lady who would receive the complaint. While I was writing my complaint she came over and said..' You know we are the only place that would call you guys to tour, the other resorts only call white people'. I found it amusing that I was giving my complaint to this very same lady....Bewildered we left the place ( with our free tickets in hand but wishing we had spent our money rather than have gone through the experience...lesson learnt). I am non white but I feel that in a country with a black president, its sad that we still see these things.

Coming to the place itself- Its a DUMP. Their main push is that one could stay in 1,2,3,4 bedrooms for the same price at several hotels all over the world if they bought the time share. Well, that's all fine ( I dont even want to talk the numbers because I feel its a waste of time even calculating if its worth it because it was so bad to look at). All the rooms were dilapidated and dirty. There was still work going on. There were no people already staying there and it was right between Bellagio and Cosmopolitan . The lady who toured us told us that they had sued Cosmopolitan for stealing their sun and that their guests could use Cosmo's amenities (not sure if its true)....Overall terrible looking hotel with a bad attitude. Would not feel safe and of course racist atmosphere if you are non white. Even if you are white, I would not recommend it for its extreme poor quality..did not seem worth the money.
