The end of Jan.(although cool) is a economic time to go..My wife and I are not big gamblers, but manage a yearly trip to the Flamingo..They comp'd us all 5 nights...Worked for me..We chose to upgrade for $30 a night,to their new "GO" rooms...These rooms are smaller than the regular rooms, but newer..Several nice touches(tub & shower w/tv..electric curtains..large tv.)I don't think I would do the "GO" room again,we felt alittle cramped..
Lots of changes going on at The Flamingo...New Carlos&Charlies coming in march.. They now have a food court with Johnnie Rockets/an italian place/asian/sub&wrap place..
Rumor has it,they are getting rid of the "burger joint" and bringing back a fine dining steakhouse, which they need..We now go to Bill's Saloon(next door) for great steaks..Some of the help from the Flamingo's old Steakhouse 46 work there..Jimmy Buffet's now has a casino attachted..
Even though The Flamingo is older,we like the fact that you can walk out the front door and you're on the street..not have to hike every time at the newer hotels...
