“JUST A GETAWAY”

The end of Jan.(although cool) is a economic time to go..My wife and I are not big gamblers, but manage a yearly trip to the Flamingo..They comp'd us all 5 nights...Worked for me..We chose to upgrade for $30 a night,to their new "GO" rooms...These rooms are smaller than the regular rooms, but newer..Several nice touches(tub & shower w/tv..electric curtains..large tv.)I don't think I would do the "GO" room again,we felt alittle cramped..
Lots of changes going on at The Flamingo...New Carlos&Charlies coming in march.. They now have a food court with Johnnie Rockets/an italian place/asian/sub&wrap place..
Rumor has it,they are getting rid of the "burger joint" and bringing back a fine dining steakhouse, which they need..We now go to Bill's Saloon(next door) for great steaks..Some of the help from the Flamingo's old Steakhouse 46 work there..Jimmy Buffet's now has a casino attachted..
Even though The Flamingo is older,we like the fact that you can walk out the front door and you're on the street..not have to hike every time at the newer hotels...

“Another good stay at Flamingo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I stayed with friends at Flamingo 2/6/12-2/9/12. We arrived around 3:30pm and there was a long line at check-in. There was a line for Total Rewards Gold members with a couple people in it. We got in that line and were at the counter in a few minutes. We needed four rooms, so I asked the receptionist if we could be on the same floor as close together as possible. She was very helpful and our rooms were all within a couple doors of each other. The rooms had been renovated in the FAB theme, with new paint, hardwood floors and a flat screen tv. They were all in good shape. I was in room 15-168 on the north end overlooking the alley between Flamingo and O'Shea's. The only complaint I had about this room was there was some noise from delivery trucks and other traffic using the alley. I used earplugs plus the sound of the A/C units from the nearby Imperial Palace provided some white noise, so overall it wasn't bad. The staff was always friendly. We ate in the buffet and the food court and all was good there. The casino always had plenty of activity. Through Total Rewards my rate was $30 a night. Even though the Flamingo isn't as upscale as many of the newer hotels, it's hard to beat it for it's location and price.

dirty carpet and heat/air not working at all
very disappointed. I am a 27 year veteran of the hospitality industry and this was one of the most unpleasant stays ever for me. I was embarrassed for my friend - since I made the res.

“Flamingo - Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

A friend and I stayed at the Flamingo two years ago and then again last week. We arrived late at night and sweeped through the check-in process quickly and efficently. The front desk staff were great. We received a free upgrade to a Go Room, and yes the hotel has aged abit, but our room was clean and comfortable. We were on the 19th floor facing Caesar's Palace and the Bellagio fountains. The room had a fridge which was great and the tv in the bathroom mirror and the automated widow shades were a great touch. The one thing we love about the Flamingo is the ability to get out of the hotel quickly and out to the strip with ease compared to some of the other hotels which sometimes seem like mazes. We were able to hit the ground running easily and get on our way quickly. The central location makes it perfect for accessing everything. The addition of the food court is great for food options, but the new Margaritaville Casino doesn't really add much.

Room Tip: Ask if possible for a room with a view of Caesar's Palace.

“Old and”

Stayed in Feb. 2012 for three nights and booked two separate Deluxe standard rooms. I thought for location and price was a great deal. Boy was I sorry. Very disappointed with the both rooms. One of the rooms, had beer cans behind one of the lamps. The carpet smelled old. Seems like the room was not cleaned. The faucet handles had rust in it. The bathroom doors and bathrooms tiles had cracks. The other room, inside the bathroom I saw small cockroach crawling around the bottom of the toilet. The pillows had chicken feathers in it. The bed was uncomfortable. Another issue is in one of their restaurant called "Tropical Breeze", the Maitre d' was rude. Address the issues at the front desk when checking out, no manager was on duty. When I asked for the name of manager, I was told that each departments have separate manager but couldn't give me any name. Will definitely not stayed at this establishment ever again.

Room Tip: Do not stay in this hotel.
