updated bedroom, but very small. The bathroom is stuck in the 30's.
Only one luggage cart. Front Desk staff needs to work on raising their head out from the computer screen. Deli staff very friendly.
We had our room facing North Main on the corner of Fremont. I love the location but a bit noisy with the band outside the window.

We stay here often when we're in Vegas. Here's the thing, it is small, it is old, it can be loud at night. Anyone who has done minimal research should know this, so expect it going in. Once you know these things, this place is GREAT! The ambiance is awesome, being the oldest hotel in Vegas. Has the best, old Vegas, antique feel. Only four floors. The rooms are small, but we have never felt that has hindered us in any way --- after all, we're mostly in there to sleep. Super comfy bed, nice tv, small bathroom but with a great rain shower head, keurig machine in the room (yes, you have to pay 1.50 to use it but still alot cheaper than going down to starbucks). We stayed on the corner facing fremont st and plaza. We could hear the band late at night, but didn't really keep us from sleeping. We knew that would be the case when we asked for the room on that front side. The staff is SUPER nice. This is also the most fun place to gamble. DuPar's and the deli are really good. WE LOVE THE GATE!!

First off rooms are tiny, oh well. You get what you pay for, but when you have toilet that will not stop flushing at 12am and the front desk rudely informs you they have no maintenance on site and no rooms (lie cause they gave me another room) very rudely you get less. Customer service at night was the poorest Ive experienced by far. We got to our 2nd room at 1am TV did not work and in the morning our room had zero cold water. Showering was unbearable, I could not even wash my face. Our non smoking room also reeked of smoke even moreso than the room before or even the casino itself. They comped our first night stay, the cheapest night we stayed but I would not recommend this hotel at all. Pay the extra money and stay elsewhere.

Ok, these are some of the tiniest rooms I've ever stayed in. Smaller than NYC rooms even! Ditto on the bathrooms. Having said that the location is great, the staff is super, and the rooms were clean and reasonably updated. If you are on a Budget the Gate will serve you well. tip: ask for an "exterior room" ... The interior rooms don't really have a window/view.
