By now if you've read the other reviews, you pretty much have a picture of Bill's. Yes, it's older and small, could use some updating. If you're a "see and be seen party queen" you'll hate it, not blingy, glitzy or new enough for you. If you're taking the family along (grandad, granny and the kids), it's not for you either - not what I'd call family oriented (pool is at the Flamingo, food choices limited). But.. if you're a "my hotel room is for sleeping in and I hate dragging my luggage through monstrous jungles of slots " type, give Bill's a try. The room we had was bigger and better appointed than what others in our party had in Ceasar's, beds were comfy and tidy. (eg -We had 42" flat screen tv, Caesar's still had a 27" crt. Caesar's bathroom had no door, just a switch back hallway that echoed - kind of odd when you have a bunch of people in the room and someone has to use the facilities.).
Our room was quiet, but we were on the back side of the hotel, so the view was back alley but we were never in the room long enough to care anyhow. Our whole group had fun in Bill's casino even though others were staying at Caesar's and The Mirage.
If you're looking for Craps lessons, they have free lessons every day at 10:30 - try to get the older pit boss as a coach - he was hilarious without trying to be. I'm guessing he's seen a few things in his life there.. :)
Fat Elvis was good for a laugh, everyone in the crowd was having fun. It's just a lot more low-key and friendly than what we saw in other casinos.
If you want a suite, either for entertaining or just because you have a bigger group, apparently the John Wayne room is a hoot - it was supposedly built and decorated for him to stay in way back when and then he died just before he was supposed to stay there. Cowboy decor, leather and wood, 3 room suite for a few hundred $$/night. Might be worth asking about.
Victorian restaurant was good, prices were reasonable and staff was helpful and friendly. Bartenders were also helpful, no problems with giving advice or answering questions. Drinks were decent sized and priced. If you were gambling the drinks came around as often as you wanted them.
If/when we go back, we'll stay there again.
Room Tip: Rooms facing Flamingo Casino are quieter (north or north east end). I would stay away from the Flam...
