“Budget stay at Fitzgeralds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Just returned from a Vegas trip that included three nights at Fitzgeralds. The Fitz is the 5th downtown property I have stayed at over the past few years. It offers everything needed for a budget wise traveler - clean room with comfortable beds at a reasonable price. Though not as modern an updated as other places, it meet our needs perfectly. $29/night cannot be beat.

Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad either - I rate it a good, solid average.

“" Penny Slots are hot and loose" Very True !!”

I did not stay in this hotel but gambled at the Casino... I was drawn in by the sign on the front saying, "Our Penny Slots are hot and loose" well they certainly were. My mom and I kept winning Small pots. 100 here 300 there and so on. My mom won 300 on a re-spin machine and I decided to sit down at it right after her. About 5 pulls in I hit the re-spin bonus and won 1500.00!!! I was so happy LOL we walked out of there that night with well over 2000.00 profit. I also saw a lot of other people winning fairly large amounts on the slots. Good fun in Downtown Vegas :)

“Cheap and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This used to be a Holiday Inn - so don't expect the Ritz. It's downtown which means it's a bit grimy because everything downtown is a bit grimy. However, it's not bad. If you have the appropriate expectations it's a cheap place to stay downtown. It's safe enough and clean enough. The Golden Nugget is nicer - and more expensive (but nowhere near as nice as strip hotels for the money) but I would rank Fitzgeralds as second best downtown.

The thing I like is that everything is close. The casino is intimate. There is food and "stuff" within walking distance. There are street performers outside. It's fun. The food there, like the hotel itself, is pretty average. But if you go with the right expectations it's fine

“Great Value!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We recently stayed here in January for one night. Our stay in 2006 was a great experience so we decided to book again. The price for a weekend night was great we also received 2 full breakfasts in the coffee shop that was wonderful. The staff was very nice everywhere we went and again travelling with a senior downtown casinos are great in the respect that are small enough for everyone to feel comfortable. I always take with a grain of salt when people critique the rooms because I feel they sometimes expect more than what they pay for, but I do have to say the carpet in our room looked so dirty you really didn't want to walk on it without shoes or socks. Other than the carpet the room was clean and it had great pressure in the shower. For us time in the room is very limited so as long as it's reasonably clean with a good shower and I feel safe there, that's really all I ask. We would stay here again.
