Ive read the pos and negs of previous reviews so I stayed with some hesitation.
THE AREA: YES it is not a nice area by far however the property is gated so, As I write this from my room, it seems safe. It is not far from Fremont street but not walking distance.
VISIT: I was there on Saturday night presidents weekend so rates were crazy everywhere. I used soon expiring air miles and it was processed and honored correctly.
RECEPTION & CHECK IN: Reservation was correct and honored. Checked in by "John" who is professional and welcoming. I went to the first room (220) and it seemed to have a smokey smell ( I booked a N/S double room) The room was changed (138) and I requested a first floor, with no problem. Its amazing at some properties the clerk acts as though it puts them out, but this was not the case.
- 1 NEGATIVE: I do not understand why the drivers licensed is copied. You check it, copy the numbers or scan it to protect the property however I am nervous with any third party/its employees have such personal info. * This also opens property liability should ones credit or identity gets hitched *. I have lived solely in hotels in Vegas for the past 18 months and this is the first such occurrence. I will request the copy at C/O however any potential damage may already be done
ROOM: I was in the "far" building ( not attached to check in) a 2 story walk up motel. Fairly large room, well furnished, and modern. The bathroom is larger than expected and quite clean. Comfortable if soft beds and four (4) quality pillows on each bed. THANK YOU BW Main Street!! I cant stand having to call housekeeping for more pillows or when pillows are thin and low quality.
The walls are "thin" you do hear people upstairs as well as neighbors. Though some blame has to be placed on guests who act as though they are alone in their family barn and clip clop around and scream at eachother...
- Only real complaint is the rug is dirty, thus our socks and feet are soiled by same. Kinda gross
TV: Old school tube TV of decent size BUT GREAT GREAT SELECTION of approx 70 channels. This is RARE in Las Vegas. Perhaps a TV upgrade at some point would make this even better. Usually I cant find anything to watch, here I had a hard time because there were so many choices.
RESTAURANT: On sight restaurant"La Piazza" open 6 am to 11 pm; the attached bar with Video poker is open 24/7 - Had lunch and considering dinner ( literally in my room as I type this) Service is friendly. Average prices, food Avg/Good with a decent variety of sandwiches,, pizza and hot items. Very price friendly specials as well.
OTHER: On sight parking, and if youre on the first floor of the far building ( Give it a name please management- east building ? ) you can pull up to or across from your room; If you have many bags or cant walk much request a first floor in the far building as theres no elevator here, the main building has an elevator. Road noise can be a problem so request away from the street/inside- theres nothing to see on the street side anyway.
The usual rates are affordable while I do not quite expect to come back ( only because there are other similar priced options and in-the-know deals available; I would not, at this point, hesitate to return
* If you find this helpful please click yes/helpful so I know im being coherent and making sense :-) *
